very true...that you pretty much "need" a car in many areas is terrible.

that there is little incentive for people to ditch (or at least park) their cars to use transit or carpool to work doesn't help either.

tax the out of SUVs and sports cars and send that money directly into public transit!

and most importantly, stop building car ghettos with a sea of houses and the nearest business being a half hour walk in each direction. If we really must have wastful lots it should be a formula of 30 houses per 15 story apartment building and a major street with businesses should never be more than 3 blocks away.

haha, why not?

hey, I'm a car guy as much as the next person...but a car is a privilege, not a right.

you can afford the expensive SUVs and sports cars...then you can afford to pay a little more for their lack of fuel efficiency too ;)
techead
The corvette C5 has better fuel efficiency numbers that lots of "family" cars
sports cars can be very good on fuel due to light weight and good aerodynamics
however the driver is usually to blame due to leadfoot

SUV's -- Im agree with (my god agreeing with mark twice in 1 day) gas guzzlers no matter how you drive them

in this country it is a right because without it we are practically stranded unless we live at bloor and yonge.

I am deeply concerened with these increases. You only know that when this whole New Orleans thing blows over prices will just go down 10cents. And for sakes, why have that .X of a cent, why dont they just make it .0 cents. W/e I guess i'm luckey I have my parents who support me with school, but I am convinced that it is becoming harder and harder to live in Ontario these days. Look at all the expenses we have as students alone! If I didnt have my parents I would be ed right now cause I netted about 6.5k with the summer job...Tuition is 4.8k then books around $500..where does gas insurance and cost of living fit in to 700 bucks is ing beyond me!

Oil is down $5 and the gas prices are the same...

Umm.. charge you with theft?

The price is clearly displayed at the pump and when you place it in your tank, you're implicitly consenting to pay that price for the goods you are receiving.

If you want to start bartering, try it before you put the fuel in your tank. :)
