| so what do you people think about this? i personally subscribe to like dictionary.com word of the day and all of that. and i type up all of the words and definitions and stuff, but it's hard to remember all of them. i like trying to improve reading comprehension and my vocabulary base, although it doesn't usually find it's way into normal conversation hehe :p, but anyone else try to do this stuff? what strategies do you use? i just want to increase my capacity to retain the words that i've gone through and i'm not quite sure the best way to go about maximizing that...so thoughts? |

Read stuff that uses higher vocab.
Newspaper like New York times, herald tribune is a good start. ( www.iht.com )
And don't try to learn every section in the alphabet, that's just lame. |

| i always like to expand my vocab too and wot me and my mates do is when someone uses a interesting word then they get a fist clash (wot the u call it??) for it haha, thats sounds a bit gay like that but basically they get some love for using a big word so we all try to better each other and i find that has helped us all over the past few years. |
