eh, i probably took it too seriously. i thought you were insulting those of us who like the idea of a diverse selection of taste. i found the concept very refreshing and exciting. to see where each dj would take the mix is pretty cool imo.

and yeah it could go sour, but i just dont see the point in pointing that out.

Counterproductive? On the contrary. By giving people the heads up regarding this problem, they will hopefully keep this in mind (or just get another reminder) when selecting and mixing their track for this concept.

but you said the concept itself is "ultimately it's downfall". unless i read you wrong.

in anycase if that was your original intent then cool, i completely agree.

If it's just over 80 mins by about 3 or 4 minutes you could try to speed the mix up using some software like protools, sound studio etc. You basically type in the length that you want the mix to be (in this case 79:59) and it will change the sample rate from 44.100khz to something like 42.000khz. If the change is not to big then it will be unnoticeable to a listener. However the downside is it may affect the flow of the mix as it will be a bit faster.

If having the mix on CD is not a big problem then I would just say leave it as it is, but I thought I would share this idea.

edit: or buy a special 90 minute CD-R. That would definitely work! :D
