Btw, it is possible to quote multiple people in one post, and is even more useful when those quotes are being responded to with 3 words or less. |

In my opinion, it's the fairest option.
Good and bad are subjective. A group of people might rather a user be banned, or a feature be added, but that does not make the forum worse or better. There are some forum rules that should not be broken, but I don't feel that simply being an idiot, posting to annoy others, or pissing off the COR veterans is ample enough reason to ban someone.
I think an increased ignore option would be extremly helpful. I find that most of the time, the people who are called for to be banned's posting is perpetuated by the attention of people who are basically saying, "I find your posting so bad that you don't have the right to post here". However, unless they break any of the official rules, they should continue to be allowed to post, one of which is often: Dont be rude. Additionally, after a review of the forum home page, the FAQ, and a forum search, I was unable to find any official rules. Id love for someone to link me to them. By increasing the functionality of the ignore list, the site increases the ability of each user to customize the forum.
Short version: There should be official rules and if they're broken, the offender should be banned. Otherwise, an increased ignore feature could be added to help each user decide which user's posting bothers them that much that they put on their Moderator hat. |
But I never said anything about banning him, I said the betterment of forums members.
There are certain social standards in different things these days, and getting your point across in a polite manner is always something that is positive.
People tend to have a hard time learning if someone doesnt help them see what areas could do with some improvement. |

Isn't that something that is more appropriate for a private message? |

Perhaps, but sometimes people don't heed advice unless other people agree with it too.
To be fair though, in this particular case, I don't think any sort of headway will ever be made. |
