oh, so the matrix was about ecstacy all along?!?! can't believe i missed that :( |
You have got to be kidding me. It can be taken as a Matrix sample, or it can be taken the way I've heard it in sets, with Red Pill, Blue Pill followed by Motorcyle - As the Rush Comes (as Montana pointed out above, was another track s/he thought was X related).
You're so narrow minded. Guess you're not a literature/movie buff where you can realize that there are multiple possible meanings to one reference. |

you didn't say you thought it was about ecstacy, you said it was about ecstacy. but yeah junkie xl may have intended it as an ecstacy reference, or he sampled the matrix cause he thought it sounded cool, i don't know.
anyway, my post was useless and didn't contribute to the thead, i appologize |

It's cool. I just assume that when the DJ's name is Junkie XL, maybe it's more of a drug reference than a Matrix homage. I mean, I kind of saw the Matrix as an exploration of alternate realities, which many people find drugs to be a gateway to attaining.
I guess he could be talking about acid, but that's not usually in pill form. I was just trying to help the kid out. When I was in college and writing tons of papers on American pop culture, I had to explore avenues like that occasionally (American Politics of the 60's is an example). You take some theories and see how far you can run with them. You might end up being wrong, but it never hurts to try. |
