Actually, the psy crowd despises ecstasy and other drugs of its ilk, as it is synthetic, unnatural and doesn't give you any psychedelic effects, expanded awareness or reality altering perceptions. Drug references in psy almost always point to psychedelic drugs/hallucinogens (LSD, ayahuasca, acid etc.) and substances naturally available with a narcotic potential in itself, such as marihuana.
