Wow in the wonderful words of Aretha Franklin
R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Find out what it means to me!!
I think its more non-learned rather than a lacking concept...If ppl don't know what respect is, how can they potray this expression in life...every child needs training in the dept of RESPECT at a very early age...tried tested and true!! |

I think these definitions is kinda iffy.
| quote: | | 1. Willingness to show consideration or appreciation. |
-Ok. I'll buy that for 2 cents. Though I wouldn't put this as first def. of the word.
| quote: |
2. A courteous expression (by word or deed) of esteem or regard. |
This should be the first def.| quote: |
3. A feeling of friendship and esteem. |
Does having a respect for someone imply friendship then? Or is it implying that friendship has a degree of respect between friends, which makes more sense.| quote: |
4. Courteous regard for people's feelings. |
That's just courtesy, not respect. Respect should be more of a high regard towards someone, not their feelings. |
