Hey Swamper, did you have a time set when you were going to release results? I know you said not til the end, I guess I'm just wondering when that is... :D
And is anyone else moderately shocked by the amount of votes Tiesto is getting on here? |

What, a lot or a little? He's only gotten about ten so far, I think. (In this thread anyway, dunno about the official vote counter.)
Sure would be ironic if he wins #1 on TA too. Everyone bitches about how innacurate the djmag poll is because of all the tools who vote and don't know what they're talking about...not that I want tiesto to win here, but I would love the irony ;) |

I just picked some random names.
It really doesn't matter to me who wins these things since there never is a decent way for everyone to make a sound voting decision. I highly doubt anyone here's heard every single DJ on the given list (and if you have, I have six words for you: get a life, you obsessive freak!). When the majority have only heard a few DJs, obviously they will choose from those DJs. Why bother having a huge list like that when maybe .5% of the users here have even heard enough of half of those names to make an educated vote?
The talents from DJ to DJ really doesn't vary much (unless we get into turntablism, but this is tranceaddict we're talking about here): get good tracks, mix competently, throw a few tricks in here and there to impress the trainspotters, and have fun with the crowd. Therefore, that really isn't the attribute DJs get voted on, as then nearly anyone could be at the top. Instead, folks vote for who they know (normally based on who does the best promotion), and who plays their favorite styles of music. Since I ignore PR hype (yes, even when they deserve it), and I enjoy all forms of EDM, my choices are randomized.
However, I do recall Josh Wink being at the top.:wtf: |

| I based my vote on releases they had this year, radio shows that i listen too, live sets that i've heard and DJs whom i've seen ... not just for djs that i know but DJs who i've actually done somethinbg relevant this year. |

I found the questioning a bit odd at the vote.
'Pick the DJ that you feel most impacted 2005' or something like that...
if i picked those djs it would just represent my town and mostly TA.
so, i followed the pick djs you know, et al.
i think this is better than DJmag, hopefully we dont have non-djs on the list tho| |
