Besides, a girl from Romania probably isn't looking to be swept off her feet, but something more along the lines of, let's put it diplomatically; 'rich & able to provide a green card'.

fixed, IMO.

Yeah really, that seems a little desperate....And I'm supposed to listen to a 19 year old named Theresa?

I think coming from one of the only female responses here, you should maybe consider it.

And what's better? To completely forget all about it and let it slip away? That seems like a completely stupid decision. If you were a man you would go after what you want. I'm sure she would be flattered. Now you're left with "what if?"

Whatever. People far too often let good things get away from them, then they always wonder later what it would have been like if things were different. With just a little effort you could find out. What harm will it do? If you're smooth, you could sweep her off her feet.

if he were smooth he wouldn't have missed the opportunity in the first place

however i agree, if you want it bad enough go for it.

I believe the line was 'next time, take the leap'

That sounds like a pretty final shutdown from this end, nothing subtle in that message. For me, the potential for success is far outweighed by the ego bruising and ridicule he'd probably recieve from friends by being called a stalker.

And yeah, if he were smoothe, he wouldn't have let it slip away....But we've all done that once or twice. Count your losses, and use the fact she was interested as a confidence boost for the next beuatiful thing that walks by.

yeah i think you should try and track her down. rejection on the internet isnt near as bad as rejection in real life.

whats the worst that can happen? she doesnt answer your email?

whats the best can happen? well, that quetsion doesnt really need answering. ;)

Sorry, I have the disagree.
Asking for a date with a woman you don't know on the internet is lame.
Men who are serious would compliment their potential date by having the moral fortitude to ask them face to face.
Real women prefer tangibles (flowers, holding hands, conversation with real interaction) than intangibles.
"What kind of a man would hide behind an internet email address to ask me out?", would certainly be on their mind even before the date...

he didnt meet her on the internet. he met her at a party and had the oppurtunity slip away.

I think the point still holds that he met her once....Held one conversation with her, and tracking her down through means that she did not explicitly give to him would seem a little creepy. There are plenty of fish in the sea, yes she was hawt, yes it would have been nice, but persuing something in this situation is probably not gonna work. It's not like he's letting something slip thru his fingers that he truly knew what he was missing out on, I mean he really didn't have time to make a strong emotional connection to the chick. The only thing he made a connection with was the affinity for her external features [not to berate him, but claiming it was more than just a physical attraction after one conversation would be proposterous], so I say again, tracking her down would be a little on the creepy side.
