Yeah, I bought Röyksopp's new album basically right after I heard this tune on the radio... gotta love those vocals.
Reactic

Great track indeed, liking it alot but my fav off the album still is Alpha Male. Dunno about remixes of 'What Else Is There'.. the 2nd single off the album is '49 Percent' with remixes from Ewan Pearson, M.A.N.D.Y, Steve Angello & Ingrosso and West London Deep. We'll see if 'What Else Is There' gets remixed eventually too. There are at least some sort of plans for its single release later on. Let's hope so.

I've heard of this group alot, but have heard nothing but this song I believe. Maybe they've had some work on some Chill Out cd's that I've heard. What album in your opinions is best? Is the female vocalist always present? Where do they hail from? How do you pronounce the name? Is it all pretty upbeat like this? or does it get gloomy like Portishead? How many members are there? Whats the vocalists name? What are the social security numbers of each of the members? :conf:

LOL!

Röyksopp is a duo (Torbjørn Brundtland & Svein Berge) from Norway. They have used several different vocalists & co-artists in their tracks so far and they also produced a few tracks on the popper Annie's album Anniemal along with a Finnish guy Timo Kaukolampi (who was part of an electro act Op:l Bastards until it got split up due to demand of the label) and Richard 'X' Philips.

They have more instrumental than vocal tracks i think so the vocalist isn't always there, especially on the 1st album Melody AM which is brilliant and has quite a different feel from the 2nd one. Their style varies alot from mellow ambience/downtempo to pretty upbeat housey stuff and everything in between.

The vocalist on 'What Else Is There' is Karin Dreijer.

I have no clue how the name should be pronounced outside Scandinavia.. :haha:

Check their Discogs link, homepage and a forum . On their site there is also a biography so check that out for more info.

Thanks alot, Grim :)

I'm listening to some samples of Melody AM now. It kinda reminds me of a melancholy Tosca or Swayzak.

hahaaa! I didn't know "Remind Me" was Royksopp. I love that tune! and his voice.. I always thought it was Jay Jay Johannson.
