First of all, I've never once been embarrassed that children have supported Nintendo. I'm proud of it. That's because children judge products based on instinct. |

I'm still not a fan of the whole wireless controller idea, Its an inconvenient having to go to the store to buy new batteries for the controller after they die out, Literally money out of your own pocket, And just for what, So you can play on the ing controllers, that! |
Uh... Rechargeable battery packs? :p |

I think it is a creative idea, I hope they have a starfox game, like a real one where you fly the spaceships and shoot stuff. I would always be tilting my 64 controller and stuff and it would be neat for the game to actually respond to my wild twisting moves, althought it would probably mean me dying more.
And some weird yet pretty games like rez for the playstation, but those kind of games are never very succesful. If this thing has a resonable price I might very well buy it, looks like the other consoles are going to be beyond my means. I wonder if this thing will work well enough for some sword figthing simulations, that would kick ass to play sword fights over the network, couldnt do that on a standard controller.
Maybe another track and field game with a footpad attachment? A modern version of that slick glove controller? Those would be fun to see as well. I must have never matured because I never realy developed a preference for the non nintendo games. I mean I have played plenty but I still find that nintendo games have a very fun charm to them. Hell I caught all the pokemon and enjoyed doing it, wtf is wrong with me. The gamecube still has resident evil, you cant say that only 8 year olds like running around in that game and finding silly ways to die, my favorite so far is at the hands of that chainsaw guy getting decapitated, still I didnt enjoy it quite as much as goldeneye. |

No, I'm not going to get over myself because I dictate what I like and dislike about video games. If I were 8 years old I would think this controller was awesome. When I used to play Super Mario I would stand up and jump every time Mario would jump. But now that I am almost 22 years old, I don't play video games like I used to. I come home from class and play a few games of NHL 06 to unwind. Or I play Madden or 007. I'm not jumping off the walls like I used to. If I want to get that animated I will exercise or play a sport. If I want to flick my wrist back and forth in a repetitive motion I will do that another way.

You actually think you'll have to run around the whole room? You should read up on some interviews where they talk about this. All that's gonna be needed is a slight gesture with your wrist; unless of course moving your hand up and down by inch is too tiring.
This control will be far superior in games like Madden or first-person shooters because of the added percision it gives you from the get-go.
edit: look at it this way. Imagine playing Madden 2007. In your left hand you have the analog with 2 triggers, and in your right you're holding that remote. You're holding the 2 just like you'd be holding a regular controller, RELAXED, but you aim by slightly moving the remote up-down-left-right, while controlling the quarterback with the analog in your left hand. Do you honestly think that this isn't more intuitive? |

We're going to have to agree to disagree here. I've read the articles, seen the pictures, and watched the video. This controller looks retarded. If I want to play a tennis game by swinging a controller back and forth I would be much better off playing real tennis. And I like the controls in Madden the way they are right now.
The simple fact is that just like what happened with PS vs. N64 and XBox and PS2 vs. GC is that Nintendo won't get the games that the other systems get. And I imagine that the new controllers will drive the developers away even more. |

I dunnno... I guarantee you if I buy a revolution now I will also be purchasing the "cradle" (which basically looks like the actual controller, and similar to gamecubes) for the "controller." (which is basically just a high tech remote control that looks gay and will control awkwardly.)
I was really excited for revolution until I saw the controller, now I am filled with dread... because it looks like Nintendo has taken all the buzz they had going for them over their controller and flushed it down the toilet. Goodbye third party developers... :( |

Uh... What about the SNES?
Plus, why don't you think it'll catch on? This is definitely a step in the right direction. The next generation of games will be rehashes of older ones... with updated graphics and online play. While that's dandy and all, most of us need some sort of variety. Sh*t. Even I'M getting bored and I'm one of those people that's open to almost any game.

Don't say that just yet. You forget two other main reasons why 3rd party developers would definitely tag onto the new console: 1) According to Nintendo, it will be very cheap to manufacture a game, and 2) developing for the system will be simple.
I certainly hope Nintendo is making better relations with the other developers... |

Very worthwhile article to read: http://gamesfirst.com/?id=682
It fills you in on some knowledge about the video game industry and just shows you one person's opinion of why Nintendo is going the right path.
Personally, I'm not a fanboy. I show love for all three consoles. I'm just trying to stop the hate for Nintendo's console. :( |

ditto
I'm always the first one to defend Nintendo cause they usually get the most baseless and immature comments thrown at them, but I enjoy playing all 3 consoles. |

| Nothing about these new revolution controllers is gonna change on how I feell about them, I'm an old school gamer, And I like the feel of the classic controllers, Making them like this would be an inconvenience. You would then have to spend some of your own money to purchase add-ons for it, So I really hope Nintendo does another set of controllers based on the GameCube ones. |

You have obviously not read any of the in-detail articles then. Since you consider yourself an "old school gamer" you'd actually LIKE what Nintendo was doing. You'll just have to find that bit of news yourself. Wouldn't hurt you to get more educated about the system in the meanwhile, too.

Somehow I'm sure that you won't even reach the $500 (and that's being generous at this point in time) PS3 threshold paying for the MAIN peripherals (which shouldn't be over 2 or 3 in total). |
