iPod Nano Owners in Screen Scratch Trauma

People slavering to get Apple's "impossibly small" iPod Nano into their sticky hands may want to pause a moment: those ahead of them in the queue have discovered that it's also unbelievably easy to scratch the screen, nixing its photo-displaying abilities. Apple's discussion forums are already host to a 188-post thread on the topic, where people have spotted that the plastic used for the screen and front of the product is as sensitive as a Kate Moss sponsor.
Trouble is that a few scratches will quickly make the color screen all but useless for viewing album art and photos stored on the machine. In which case you might as well have bought the cheaper, screen less iPod shuffle, hmm? When the point was put to the head of Apple's iPod division, Jon Rubenstein - who in the past oversaw the development of the Titanium PowerBook - the one that killed off Wi-Fi reception, because metal cages do that - he replied: "Nah, you don't really think that? It's made of the hardest polycarbonate... You keep it in a pocket with your keys?"

| I have a 20 Gig iPod, the new one with the photo screen and so on. Now, I don't understand why people wouldn't expect that it would get scratched. Your cell phone display gets scratched if you don't look after it. Your watch gets scratched. I have a cute little case for my ipod. Its fantabulous. :D |

Simple solution.

I use a similar product on all my LCD screens, from my Archos to my mobile phone to my digital camera.
I also put all those devices in properly-fitted cases. |

That's what I have RJ! Best investment I EVER ING made (iPod wise of course! :D).
iSkin pwns me almost as much as iPods do. They are so cool... love the silicone... I can say my iPod is being protected by the stuff breasts are made of then! :D
I absolutely LOVE the feel of the silicone, plus its semi-grippy, so you can leave it on your dash in the the car and it wont slide away like if you didnt have a non-metal protective shell.
Plus the silicone case itself is wonderful, i never worry about it being damaged from objects (thought obviously I'd NOT want to step on it). And the screen protector - BRILLIANT. Still not even one scratch on my screen... I'm proud of that.
And the MAJOR ADDED extra bonus feature you ask? The docking port cover - A MUST! I didnt like how that port was perpetually exposed... you dont want that being damaged or getting food and in it by accident, bc then ur up 's creek for uploading data to your iPody.
Also, iSkin, a million different colours it comes in (so much FUN) and different coloured screen protectors too now... it just keeps getting better. They even have ing glow in the dark ones! Cant talk about how wonderful the silicone iSkin iPod protectors are!
(Last, no metal ANYWHERE on it... so no accidental scratch-age either... that's been a complain sometimes amongst the other hard metal cases... they have been known to scratch here and there... annoying... dont wanna runt that risk.)
