Music for studying

So, what do you guys listen to while studying? I mean what genres, and secondly any particular artists or tracks.
Personally, I switch between studying in silence and studying with music, depends on my mood. The songs that have helped me the most have been these:
Henrik B - Kryoniks Brilliant ambient album by the Swedish techno producer. This really makes you concentrate, not much happens during the tracks... it's instead a long journey of floating sounds and pads. My favs are 'Drifting (part 1 and 2)' and 'Deep and Blue'. http://www.discogs.com/release/174065
Hans Zimmer - The Last Samurai OST Not all the tracks on the album, but some of them have followed me through endless amounts of reading =) Especially the calmer ones.
Well, those are the two that I've had on repeat mostly. When it gets too calm I put on some more uptempo stuff and drink some red bull so that I don't fall asleep :wtf:
Gimme your best ones now ;) |

sincerely, any electronic music, not so hard...
but till some cool euphoric trance... prog... etc...
or classical, for me the problems are the vocals, without vocals I can concentrate more...

Good answer. But I'll just add Conjure One, Noise Unit, FLA, Air, Deep Forest, Lhasa, Portishead to the list. Endless options for good music. Now I know why you put 'etc'. :p |

| I usually put on whatever I'm listening to currently and turn it down a notch or two, it always works for me that way. |

| I don't get it...how can you listen to music while studying? It just makes me wanna start dancing...gets me thinking of other things - doesn't matter if it's prog, chillout, trance, techno or whatever.... |

Self control. You have to focus on what you are doing. You have to let the music help you but not distract you to the point of only paying attention to it. It's hard to do for some people. And it's understandable to become distracted becuase most people are listening to beautiful music that just takes the mind away. |

Traffic
(the soundtrack, not the congestion) |

| Eddie N MIAMI |
Sashas airdrawndagger
or basicly any trance with no vocals in it.
also play some Enigma at times
if its an all nighter I tend to play some old Heavy Metal tracks from like Iron Maiden, Metallica etc..to keep me up. |
