Perry's track list was hotness:eyespop:. I went crazy when he played "Numb". That song is fckin serious. First time seeing Nu NRG and they owned .. wow....just wow...
Didn't really stay long for Mike. I wasn't feeling the tracks he opened with although I heard he was on point later on.
Overall I had an awesome time. Not sure if I met any TA's, however I might have came across some throughout the night without realizing it. Maybe at Crobar this friday I can meet some of you guys in person.
Some pics....

Anybody know who all those guys standing behind Nu Nrg were?

pic of my dumbass....

Crowded....

Nu Nrg close up

The rest of my pics came out to dark. The camera I was using sucks. I do have video clips which came out ok... but the sound quality on them is horrific. I will upload some more pics later from my phone camera. |

ZOMFG
PERRY! His flow was mint like altoids. Great set.
Some of his tracks:
Matthew Dekay - More Money More Power
Id- Can You Feel Me?
J&S Project + Claude Ma-te - Missing
Kalafut & Fygle - Lullaby [Tkac & Haverlik Mix]
Id-Id (he couldnt tell me about this one, he said it's canadian tho :o great percussion in it!)
Espen & Stian- Risifrutti
Cassino & Laben- Leaving Panic Behind \o/
Luminary- Wasting (Andy Moor Remix)
Inkfish vs. Martin H - Eye Am (David West Mix) (or some david west tune)
Benz & MD- Underoath :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:
Armin feat Remy & Roland- Bounce Back
Eyewall- Bad Deal (Remy & Roland Mix)
Deep Dish- Say Hello (some mix)
Perry O'Neil- Switched (IN TUUUUUUNE! :D)
Roland Klinkenberg- Twilight
Perry O'Neil- Wave Force
NU-NRG comes on, they play a KILLER set, much more melodic and atmospheric than last time.
Anyone know what track that was with the incredible breakbeats?
Serge Devant and Second Sun show up. That was noice. :D
MIKE plays. I didn't really feel his set that much. Track selection was AWESOME but it just didn't flow well for me.
Some tracks he played:
Absolute - Daydream
Reflekt feat Delline Bass- Need to Feel Loved (some mix)
KOTA- Waiting (?)
Hammer & Bennet- Language (Santiago Nino Dub Tech Mix)
Armin vs MIKE- Pound
MIKE- Turn Out the Lights (Hiver & Hammer Mix):D :D :D (spirit's acoustics turned this into a KILLLERRRRR!)
Plastic Boy- Silver Bath (those lasers sounded so good in spirit)
Purple Haze- Adrenaline
Mojado- Naranja (Dimitri Andreas Mix)
TDR- Squelch (SvD Mix)
Armin vs Mike- Intruder
Tim Deluxe - It Just Won't Do (some really techy mix)
Roc Project feat Tina Arena - Never (Luv Tina Mix?)
Filterheadz- Yimanya \o/
Philippe B- How Does It Feel
Thanks to all who helped ID :D
Side notes:
Spirit's Kamikaze's have stepped up their game :D They taste sooo much better now ;)
Spirit's acoustics are PERFECT for MIKE's productons!!!
Those 2 guys by the stairs. I named em. One is Stairmaster, so called because he kept climbing and dancing up the stairs to the nu-nrg platform, but couldn't quite make it.
Other guy is Space Invader, so called cause he kept waving his arms around in the space between the barricade and the steps.
nice seeing everybody that i did :D |

my review is honestly one of the best nights the nyc trance scene has seen in a while, what i mean is besides all the big guys tiesto, pvd, armin, ferry
last time i had as much fun was j00f at arc in sept 2003
made events out did themselves, the lineup last night was something you would only see in europe
perry o neil was good, and then after 1 he was great i was really feeling his set
nu nrg came on and took the club to another level awsome show i wish they would have played a lil longer tho but they still rocked the club
but for me m.i.k.e stole the show he played alot of his own productions ( i requested silver bath and strange world) and he played them, his set was a lil of everything tech-trance,uplifting,techno
anyone know that mix of universal nation he closed out with?
it wassent that montana mix it was something very new it was one of the top tunes for the night
m.i.k.e and perry should deff come back and play extended sets
the sound was awsome last night, so was the vibe everyone was into the show
as i said before deff one of the best nights out |

Wow, everyone played a phenomenal set. Although M.I.K.E. started off kinda weak, he picked up very quickly. I definetly like what Avalon managment has done with the place. It was nice to see people being able to glowstick/string, jump on stage, etc... I didn't really like the fact that everyone had a cig in my face though, i wish they would keep that to the back area. The Stairmaster guy was indescribable. I have no idea what he was on or what he was thinking, but i bet he got a good leg workout.
I haven't met anyone from the board yet, but from my guess you guys were standing on the left side of the stage. I was on the right side with a friend, and when it got cleared up towards the night it was pretty much just me trying to gather whatever tiny remnants of energy i had left to move my feet like 5 inches and pretend dance. Maybe I'll come say hi next time.
Cant wait for Armin & Remy next week! |
