Hi All,

Have any of you tried scratching in your sets?

I have been doing it for about 18 months now & i'm starting to get some really good results.

I'd be interested in hearing some of your stuff & i'd post some of mine if I could figure out how to do it.... Can anyone advise?

If its house and trance I really hate the sound of it. The only set Ive heard that has had scratching in it was a Techno one and it sounded alright. Nothing spectacular.

Oh man I'm going to use up this thread :)

I LOVE scratching to any type of EDM

My buddy Micheal Conway does it. He's freaking beast and deserves some props.

He has this signature scratch of his...I think it's his own version of a scribble. It goes so well with everything.

Man I'm a college student with some decks in my apartment....every single ing time I have guests over the first question is "omg do you scratch?" GAH! I make a big show of it and throw on some zabiela mix pretending to be doing all the scratches and feedback loops and other such magic on my str8-60s.

Scratching sounds good over just about any kind of music as long as you can scratch and its used appropriatly... iv been scratching for a long time now and i love it... it hads something new to the music. i used to be one of those DJs who just used to stand there and wait 6 mins for a track to end so i could mix out.. boring as . plus i mix breaks so scratching sounds good over it anyways

You're supposed to use battle breaks records like Superseal or Dirtstyle that are specifically for scratching. Check it out. AHHHS and and FRESHs galore.

Eddie Halliwell.

That's all I have to say on the matter at this precise moment in time.
