yah, that "happened to me" at stellar spark during oakenfold. :nervous:

i knew it was an abombination (sp), and wrong on so many levels, but if the grrl is hot enough there's not much you can do to stop it :D

Yeah, didn't you guys hear?

Charlie and I are giving up the whole pretentious "EDM DJ/Producer" lifestyle to get back to our gangsta roots... Tyler C vs. Rob Turner is going to be an emcee battle... you know, like that movie "8 Mile..."

:p

ohh...alright. i'm going to have to borrow some ghetto-tech and hip hop vinyls so ya'll have something to mix into....errr...i'll just spin hip hop instrumentals all night whilST you 2 battle. scratch master luke in the hizzizouse...

holla.

Thanks for the support KT! It is definitely my hope that someday sooner rather than later our paths will cross behind the decks... But your support even without seeing me quote en quote "live" really does mean a lot to me, as I'm sure it does to both Lucas and Tyler C...

The theme of this night, especially for the TA's is just to have some fun... This is definitely kind of an odd area/venue to throw a show like this, but I assure everyone, Stevens Point is ready for it... The venue is VERY cool, the sound is wonderful (did somebody say Allen & Heath? And I'm not just talking about the mixer we'll be using, the soundboard itself for the whole room is a brand new Allen & Heath console! w00t!), and the atmostphere of Stevens Point is just a lot more relaxed and chill than what you'd find heading to a big city event... which isn't to say I don't love heading to Chicago, Detroit, and Minneapolis for shows, but I hope this is a fun, interesting, and relaxing change of pace from the hectic and sometimes cracked out feel of a large city event, as well as the EXCESSIVE crackiness that comes along with a lot of the "parties" or "raves" thrown in this area... :p

I'm excited to share my home town with the TA's... hopefully we'll have a good show of at the event! Flyers arrive to me tomorrow... :D

So I've made a little decision about this event...

Ever since I started going out, I've gotten bitched at about making the statement "I'd play anywhere, for free."

I know a lot of how you weed out the competition, and know good from bad, is by who's getting paid, and so I DO understand when people get upset about guys like me who would give it a go for free, because maybe we're taking a spot away from someone who's hard work and dedication have earned them that spot and the payday far more than I...

BUT!

Since this is a show I'm promoting (And hell, we're in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, I'm not exactly taking food (lücid: or drugs ;)) out of Lee Burridge's mouth :p), I figure this is the one chance I'll ever really have to do this, so, rather than taking a check for the event, I've decided that since this event is supposed to be $5 for all non-students, I'm going to take the cash and cover admission for ANY TA who makes the trip. It's not much at all, but it's my way of saying thank you, thank you to all the TA's who've had faith in me, and the things I've been working on for the last few years.

I hope you guys can make it up... If you can, make sure you PM or get ahold of me before the event, so I know how to set this up as I don't know who will be working the door yet, so I'll need to have a list setup...

Thank you all again for your continued support... this will certainly be a night to remember...

Peace,

Rob
