Hi-

am considering buying a computer and looking into the 14" ibook

Have limited experience with apple - but people say it's easy!

anybody own this laptop(or similar) and have any plusses/minuses they'd want to share, or know of a better $1500 laptop?

thanks!

iBooks aren't sexy at all compared to the hotness that www.dynamism.com has. Check their out. Pricy as but oh so hot.

The Pavilion I'm writing this on has been thrown out of moving cars, stepped on, had drinks spilled on it and worse.

I'm completely pleased with HP, and believe me.. I'm a VERY picky consumer.

My next laptop will be an IBM X40 or the equivalent at the time. Laptops should be portable and small, not 9 pound 17" widescreen behemoths.

The Sony Vaio X505 is my current electronic lust object.

Hell yeah! I keep glancing at the X41T myself. I look at people buying those Future Shop special Dell/HP/COMPAQ behemoths and laugh. Silly large machines, what do they think they're doing.

Personally, I'd go for a Windows laptop over a Mac one any day. Unless you're in graphic design, but then why get a 14"er anyway?

I'm typing this on a HP ZV5410 that I'm quite happy with. It's a bit heavy for a laptop and the touchpad has it's 'off' days (when it works like crap), but other than that, it's a great desktop replacement that I can take with me to school when I need to.

Specs:
- 1.8 GHz Athlon 64 (waiting for warranty to expire before I can slap a 64-bit operating system on this thing  )
- 512MB RAM
- 60GB HD
- 64MB Dedicated Nvidia video card
- 15.4" screen
- 7 lbs weight
- max 3 hours battery
- $1200

Are you pleased with all the adware they come preloaded with?

Granted they make good units. You just gotta format them as soon as you open the box
