Question for Ableton users:
I finally recorded my first set that I'm happy with but it rendered like complete . The sound is flat and there's a noticable 'static' throughout the duration. Could this be because my soundcard is or? I made sure to check and double check all preferences and everything is how i wanted it to be.
ive just noticed this problem stopped suddenly @ 45min in too. ?? |

It gets a bit picky about the specific inputs, but I can record two things from the front and back at the same time as long as I plug my mic into the second XLR :p |
yeah, like i said, you have 2 analog inputs, but not 4. the little buttons, on teh front that say mic/line switch you from the front mic inputs to the rear line inputs. so you can record a MAX of 2 analog channels at the same time. |

could be one of a few things. if it sounded flat and staticy before you rendered, yeah it could be your interface. if it went to after you rendered its probably the way you rendered it. depending on what resolution and sample rate you recorded at, you may have run out of room on the drive or folder you were recording to and thats why it stopped at 45min. |

I think he meant the ty static and flatness stopped at 45 min.
That's weird UWM, have you tried rendering it again? |

I use the M-Audio FW Audiophile with Ableton Live 5 and it works great! It has all your requirements too! |
I got that above card for my laptop, and it was D.O.A , yet the man at m audio blamed my laptop. Because it wasnt a mac, how lame !!. They've since admitted its their own fault the unit doesnt work and i sent it back like a month ago and still no further forward. Everyone always says they are the best, yet in practise they are utterly piss poor, and they've yet to understand the term "customer service". Id recommend any card but m audio, side by side with my audigy 4 pro, the audigy won for build quality, the audiophile just seemed cheap and tacky and not worth the £150 a paid for it at all |

He was probably right. ;)
At the high end of the spectrum is the RME Multiface II:

I recently jumped from the Firewire 410 to the Multiface. The sound, performance, reliability and build quality of the Multiface are second to none but it is pricey. |

Well not at all, it was the m audio unit that was at fault and not my laptop neither my desktop. If you had read the post correctly you should have noticed that m audio have claimed responsibility for the fault. Perhaps you should take time to read the posts fully before making quotes and replys |
