He was in Boston last night... I missed it due to the ty fact that any Avalon Managed club blows... 19+... im 18... two years ago i was getting in, new management sucks....
but other than that Hawtin is nasty... love the vibes his mixing gives |

Thanks! I can't wait.
I don't know who I like better. Garnier or Hawtin. Hawtin is dirty twisted, while Garnier is penetrating and deep. Those two should have been brothers. They need to produce a love child who mixes a bit of both. Or maybe that love child already exists? Who is it?! |

I can't say I really approve of this minimal-trend Richie has been spearheading lately. While it is enjoyable to a certain extent (I like some of the tunes that have resulted from it), this quote from another forum I frequent (translated loosely from Norwegian by yours truly) sums it up quite nicely:

i've seen him play at Twilo NYC back in 99-2000 and he would mix literally without his headphones. He'd cue in with his monitors, that's pure skill right there. So I hope people aren't biased because he's gone digital with abelton, if you notice, his beats are untouchable right now. he's already proven he mastered mixing, Sasha has always been ahead of the scene, he will always be ahead of the scene. |

That's kinda the point, isn't it. Take Krakpot, Minus Orange or Call It What You Want and then compare it to say, the stuff on Minimize to Maximize. The contrast is jarring, and he has done and can do so much better. |

Yeah, I see what your saying. But take anyone who's never heard of the guy and play Krakpot and I could also understand them to think it's the most boring, watered down production as well.
I don't know. It's hard comparing minimal. How do you object? It's hard to find what you like/dislike of a source that's minimal or barely there in the first place.
Personally, I can't listen to much Plastikman. But I do so love Hawtin. They are two complete, contrasting worlds to me. Talk about a man with multiple personality!
