Depends. He's been doing a fair bit of minimal sets lately (alone or together with Villalobos), they're top quality for the lovers of the genre, but not really my cup of tea. I've seen him twice this year, first time was mindblowing due to the fact he left his minimal records at home and threw down a deep, dark and just plain great techno set, kept the pace all the way through and that's the way I like to hear it when at a party. Second time he did a b2b with Villalobos and I couldn't listen to it for more than 15 minutes. Luckily enough there were plenty of other areas to visit :)
So, all in all, just go, he's a genious in both fields, but if you are not really into minimal (like me) chances will be that you're not really enjoying yourself. |

he can play some sick techno tracks, but also very chilled tracks!
last time i see him (last sunday) he play all toghether! first bouncy, then more minimal, then more techy, then a bit more relaxed an at the end all together! it was a b2b with villalobos for 13 hours :) |

your avatar bothers me greatly...
sasha does not suck...i'm guessing you think otherwise because he uses abelton live to mix. if so, i laugh at you because at his age and with the amount of time he's been in the scene, I don't think he needs to prove to anyone that he can mix.
i've seen him play at Twilo NYC back in 99-2000 and he would mix literally without his headphones. He'd cue in with his monitors, that's pure skill right there. So I hope people aren't biased because he's gone digital with abelton, if you notice, his beats are untouchable right now. he's already proven he mastered mixing, Sasha has always been ahead of the scene, he will always be ahead of the scene. |

His set at sonar was absolutely out of this world, he really did throw in a great mixture of minimal and far tougher techno that time. The whole three hour set was phenomonal. Marc houle was the highlight of the night for me tho.
Hawtin is probably my favourite dj at the moment, but then again i really like the whole minimal music thing, depending on how long he's playing for you may get a real mixed bag of techno, from the deepest minimal, to the most jackin detroit, I know when I saw him at cocoon in frankfurt he played a 6 hour set and I was kept interested the whole way thru - something very few dj's could do for me at the moment.
My advice is - go!! |

considering your sig, you probably would find richie boring
but IMO richie is one of the most innovative dj out there right now - if you're not familiar with minimal techno you may not like him, but if you're open to new and interesting sounds you should go. |
