Personally I started with Cubase SE. Quite easy to learn and the option to upgrade to SL or SX. If you start with Reason or FL then you'll (probably) eventually want to move on to a deeper program. By starting with Cubase SE you'll save time and money. |

you're still on Version 3? any particular reason why? when version 4 added MIDI capabilities I was like, "THIS IS MY SEQUENCER!"

I've said it once and I'll say it a zillion more times: check out the Ableton demo. you'll be absolutely HOOKED. it takes a little bit of getting used to, but it's so intriguing that you can't put it down. I learn new things about it every day, and I've been using it for years :D |

i use reason 3.4.
well also cubase sx but not atm.
when people say cubase sx, in what ways do you use it, like do you use it to sequence and rewire vsti's and also audio sampling by time stretching to go in sync.
cause i saw i think it was Luke Fair's cubase screen and it was all wav samples. it made me think well i dont always want to go for that digtal sound all the time just for good balance, but thats just my style. |

| Cubase SX 2 ...great piece of software, i'm torn between stienberg wavelab and cool edit pro for wave editor though...both have some good and bads, and i'm yet to make up my mind on which i prefer. |
