Ok I had a mighty fine day out @ Sunshine People :)
Saw the start of Zombie Nation but this really wasn't my cup of tea! Wandered between rooms for a while but finally found what I was there to see when ASYS took to the decks in the Pharmacy room and he was decent :)
Saw about half of Cosmic Gate, and later Hellraiser, he sure delivered :)

I also ventured onto the boat, just after Cosmic Gate i think. I was abit iffy about this but quickly realised this was going to be a great ride :)

the black pearl was awesome but i reckon the sets should have been longer one hour is just not long enough. ben cromack rocked it as usual. i was not impressed with the pharmacy stage. was cosmic gate any good?

We had 1.5 hour sets the first year of Sunshine People and it got a little confusing with the hour long boat rides. Most people on the boat are not really there to see a DJ so we figured to keep it simple and bring it back to 1 Hour (which really ends up being 45 minutes as the boat never leaves on time and the cap'n has to go through the motions with safety stuff etc). In the end, the idea of the boat is to get away from the rest of the party for an hour (or three/four in most of our cases!) for a bit of fun. Longer set times would be great, but the idea of the party is also to get as many people involved as possible to pretty much celebrate the start of the new year.

But yes 1 hour sets are pretty pointless imo if you're running a DJ/Music focussed party. I would have loved to keep building things with a little more time (as we disccussed later on :)) but it's not really the place for it. I have noticed that over the last few years the techno crews have kind of settled on the fact that 1 hour is fine which in some ways is probably more a reflection of the "include as many different DJ's as possible so that we try and appeal to a wider network of friends" trend of promoting parties these days more than anything.

^^^ it was still a heap of fun!! regardless of set length etc..

i forgot there was music being played anyway... had a blast mocking the G babies until they tried to bash me...

i had a farkin amazing day!

we actually did what we said we were gonna do and slept nine hours new years eve so got to sunshine fresh and ready to go.

rain didn't wreck it at all seeing as was undercover and enough room to fit everyone without getting squished.

cosmic gate were brilliant. they threw a few old classics, fire wire, exploration of space and operation blade at the end of their set. geez they had the whole crowd rocking. those tunes still go off i don't care what anyone says! had a flash back of old skool docks parties for a moment there.

caught most of richie hawtin's set also. started off bit too minimal but got real funky half way through so made mangler stay so i could have bit of jig. think marsh enjoyed it too but he went walkabout half way through and wasn't found til several hours later.

i'm gonna do the whole sleeping night before thing every new years from now on. u sure enjoy the day a lot more!

WOW WHAT A GREAT BLOODY DAY & NIGHT!
SUNSHINE PEOPLE ING ROCKED!!!!

I was all over the place.......started in the Dekonstruckt arena....heard some kewl electro tunes....then made my way to the Hardware arena....man that arena ing rocked!!! Saw Richie Hawtin & Magda play..they were SENSATIONAL!!! Saw ASYS play for a bit as well.......he was rocking nonetheless!

Cosmic Gate.....well ive seen them play a fair few times....and would have to admit that this performance wasnt their best. Only because I like the music harder and they didnt really deliver the hard music, which ive heard them play in the past. They played better towards the final of their set!!

Ultimately it would be the man himself HELLRAISER who would DEMOLISH & DESTROY THE CROWD! WHAT A ING GUN! THE MUSIC WAS ABSOLUTELYINGCRAYYYYYYYZZZZZEEEEEEEEEE!
