No, i'm not really a cop but, one of my best friends is. He doesn't have a better-than-thou attitude (he really is a cool guy) but he is VERY aggressive. I can tell you that, from the stories he tells me, getting into physical while on duty is something that he and most of his co-workers consider to be a perk of the job. (sheds light on the New orleans tape)
He is a rookie cop though, I could guess and see that in the future he could turn into a power-trip cop. i hope not though, i like the guy. |

| The sad truth is that most people become cops because they were abused or bullied in their childhood and by getting the power of the shield they want to get back at people . My neighbor is a cop and even he says that he hates that kind of cops , he says that they should have been airport security . |

..speaking of cops, i have to say that i pretty much dont like them at all. of course, that is a sweeping stereotype and i have a few friends that are nice cops. and i'm only speaking of cops in my area- nypd/njpd.
i would say about half of the experiences i've had, the cops acted waaaaaaay overly aggressive and half of that half were yelling/cursing at me for absolutely no reason ("stay in your ing car!" "don't ing move!") ...btw, i almost over get pulled over for speeding...one time it was for an illegal u-turn or some .
one of the last times i got pulled over it was by a state trooper (read: dick) and he was actually cursing/threatening me in my car. i was doing exactly 40mph over the speed limit on the state's biggest highway (yes, speeding a lot but it's pretty common) and i have a feeling i was discriminated against (i really hate using that word discriminated, it's too PC) bc i had my platinum colored fauxhawk and the small purple streak in the front, which is now baby pink. my parents also mentioned the fact that cops take some sort of initiative to assume the worst when they see something superficial that is out of the norm. not that my hair was insane but yea, not many chicks had my hairdo, and yes, it looks punky. and i drive an RSX in case anyone is wondering...ing cop magnet of a car. :(
short version: i think cops immediately think i'm a punk bc of my hawkdo and that pisses me the off bc it's totally unfair. |
You were going 40 mph over the speed limit. You deserve anything you got for that. The cop probably thought you were drunk, high, or driving a stolen vehicle so no wonder he was "agressive" with you. If anyone is the dick in this situation it's you for driving so irresponsibly. |

i almost crashed a jeep into a neighboors tree.. he was a cop. i was doing donuts infront of his yard.
we drove like a bitch to my house down the street.... after tearing up half his yard... we go into my house and 4 minutes later the cop comes and hes like WTF and i was like sorry and hes like "oh mario it was you. stop driving ur friends cars and doing stupid around hte culdezac.
i was like "ok" and it was chill/..... he was a cool cop |

I am for the most part a law abiding citizen, and even thus I have had numerous run ins with cops.
One time an ex-roommate () of mine was arrested for drugs, and he told the cops that I had sold them to him (not true).
So they really ed me over by going through all my stuff with a drug dog, and even made me open my safe.
******s, it still makes me mad to think of it, and it happened last March.
Then later I was driving from Co Springs to Austin to visit my folks and I drove through West Texas.
If you’ve ever been to West Texas, it’s basically like the of creation.
So I was not speeding or anything, and this state trooper behind me pulled me over for “failing to signal a lane change.”
He interrogated me for like ten minutes as if I was under scrutiny for murder or something, and while he was talking to me, he flashed his flashlight at another car driving down the highway and signaled that car to pull over!
He was just an who liked ing with people.
Generally I have little respect for cops, but once I met a nice one who pulled me over, and he let me go even though I didn’t have my vehicle registration. |

not drunk/high - he didn't make me walk the line or any such test.
not stolen - he cursed at me before AND after he checked my registration/license.
i dont think you get this at all. if you saw a pic of me, u'd see that i present no threat whatsoever.. i'm just a 23 y/o girl with funky hair..speeding is prally the only law i have ever broken, i come from a straight arrow cool family.... the "you deserve anything you got for that" line was just way out of line dude. like i said, this is common in jersey and the cops get in your face for the slightest thing, not even for doing something that you might consider extreme, like the speed i was at. sure it may have been incredibly irresponsible to drive 40 over at 7am in the morning when no one is on the road and the cop was specifically parked on the side of the road behind bushes to catch people, but no one has the right to talk to another person like s/he is a piece of they way some/most of these cops do. |
