i dont think you get this at all. if you saw a pic of me, u'd see that i present no threat whatsoever.. i'm just a 23 y/o girl with funky hair..speeding is prally the only law i have ever broken, i come from a straight arrow cool family.... the "you deserve anything you got for that" line was just way out of line dude. like i said, this is common in jersey and the cops get in your face for the slightest thing, not even for doing something that you might consider extreme, like the speed i was at. sure it may have been incredibly irresponsible to drive 40 over at 7am in the morning when no one is on the road and the cop was specifically parked on the side of the road behind bushes to catch people, but no one has the right to talk to another person like s/he is a piece of they way some/most of these cops do. | witht hat hair
idbe like
"yo u were speeding.... wanna go out?"
"wtf ur an officer"
"ahhhhh *looks both ways and runs*" |

So I was not speeding or anything, and this state trooper behind me pulled me over for “failing to signal a lane change.”
He interrogated me for like ten minutes as if I was under scrutiny for murder or something, and while he was talking to me, he flashed his flashlight at another car driving down the highway and signaled that car to pull over!
He was just an who liked ing with people. |
damn dude, that's just ing crazy and i know how you feel.. one time i was in the town right next to where i live and i was pulled over for doing 38 or something in a 25, and it was obvious these dumbass cops had NOTHING to do... first car pulls me over... 2 minutes later another car shows up, lights and all... 1 minute later ANOTHER cop car shows up and i'm ing TRAPPED on 3 sides by these cops and it was like christmas with all the goddamn lights going off!!!! wtf?! i was like "this is just plain embarrassing, i can't believe this bulling." didn't get a ticket tho. (thankfully.) i was to just roll my eyes so bad but i kept my cool.

Generally I have little respect for cops, but once I met a nice one who pulled me over, and he let me go even though I didn’t have my vehicle registration. |

NY State Troopers are dicks. i don't have anything against cops but everytime i've ever encountered a state trooper in NY he just had this attitude like "i'm better, you're a screw up, and i'm gonna treat you like a head and show you how much power i have"... |
agreed. hey, where do you live btw? |

I don't understand why you freely admit to driving 40 mph over the speed limit like its something everyone does and then call the cop an for being rude to you. I lived in Jersey for almost 10 years and yeah people speed but 40 over is ing ridiculous. You most definitly are a threat driving at that speed and yes you did deserve to get cursed out by the cop. I don't feel sorry for you at all. |

hey man, i'm not asking ANYONE to feel sorry for me AT ALL. this isn't even about my speeding, it's just cops in general, i just used an extreme example. i should have used an example of a very negligible thing to get my point across actually..
doing 90 on a 50mph is not a whole lot on a 4-5 lane highway imo.
oh plus (not addressing you flavedave, just in general), my friend and i were in our bathing suits going to the beach at 7am, so that was also a huge sign to the cop that it wasn't grand theft auto. |

i like cops...i guess it's cause i know what they have to deal with on a daily basis.
90 in a 50 on a highway is still way too fast. |

i've just lost someone really close to me due to someone else's careless driving...and that will kinda slow you down a bit. |

| see when I get pulled over I smile alot, make eye contact, and make sure that i put my military id with my drivers license. everybit helps, and I have managed to drive for more than 12 years without a single ticket even though I've been pulled over for numerous things. one thing you have to keep in mind is that there may be extenuating circumstances to why you have been pulled over, or maybe he's just having a bad day and waiting for an excuse to nail somebody. so, just smile and answer questions politely, keep your hands where he can see them and be cool.;) |

though i agree that 40 miles over is pretty crazy hahaha
i think cars are controlable at mileages above the speed limits. i mean i got a ticket driving back from las vegas doing 95 in a 75 on the straightest damn stretch of highway of all time and in the middle of the day with barely anyone on there...was i speeding? yes...but was i being dangerous? of course not...
ps. i agree that most cops are dicks. i am very polite with them and haven't had too many problems, but i still dislike the authority figure... |
