dammit
james was very tired
was on tour for a long time
when he plays, hes fully into it... 4hours non stop of thinking and beatmatching + live editing tracks + drinking and smoking...
you gotta give the man some credit
hes a fakin music-genious
what do you expect when the guys plays 2 cds + loops full on at the same time
his brain is asking a lot at the same time
he never does the same sets... always innovating etc...
i think it was great and obviously people werent used to that kinna music... but hey... you gotta listen to some new stuff sometimes
he didnt play too hard... which is actually a good thing, cuz it was on a saturday...
the clientele that wasnt there for him were already shook by the new stuff he was bringing... it would have killed the vibe if he went harder....
the only REAL mistake i remeber was when he accidently pressed on the wrong filter patern on the mixer... which FILTERED the music for half a second
its actually pretty hard to have a fully perfect mix when you have 2 cds runnin at the same time and the loop on too
the loops are a little tricky and not as accurate as the cd players...
as i already discussed with very known djs, james is always impressing world-class djs by the way he mixes and all the sounds he brings in from nowhere into known tracks
hes one of my favs and i was happy to see him live after 2 years in montreal
cant wait to have him back |
