Suggestions for converting a user from IE to Firefox

need your open minds here ..
what/how do you tell a person that IE sucks, and Firefox is the best way to go when going internet surfing ?? really .. i have checked the memory usage between the two during long durations of surfing .. i have found IE going up to the 300mb range in VM ... that sucks ( my computer mem + vm's max is 1 gig currently .. ) ..
i keep telling him firefox will make his browsing faster, but he won't listen .. then he complains to me that the computer sucks, because when he surfs the web, there is a little pause everytime he goes to a new page .. i figured the reason why is that IE keeps swapping between VM and real memory .. i guess you don't see a real difference in the paging until the computer is constantly doing it ...
enough ranting .. should i tell the guy he is a b00b for not listening to me ?? |

Tell him surfing teh pr0n with those easy Firefox tabs is truly amazing. Makes his life so much easier.
Oh and the no annoying pop-ups anymore together with the Foxytunes extension that lets you control Winamp from within your browser does it for me. |

oh yeah .. pop ups ..
i tell the guy that with firefox, popups get reduced 90% (not 100, because there are sites that can get around it) .. and he doesn't listen to me ..
he goes on IE, and bitches that the computer sucks and has a virus, because he keeps getting pop ups .. then he tries to google to search for a popup blocker .. right now, he has yahoo! popup blocker on .. :rolleyes: .. jeez .. this just boggles the mind .. :conf: |

For some reason TA is only working for me with my aol browser, and it doesn't load properly with either Firefox or IE.
I switched from IE to firefox about a year ago, and most sites (including TA) worked fine.
Could it be a problem with TA>?
I don't know what the ing problem is, but even thus, Firefox still owns IE. |

I have a friend like that. He doesn't understand that I know more than him about computers. I recommend stuff and he just doesn't listen. Gets on my nerves, but I've given up now so it's OK.
Does your friend refuse to even try it...because if you've asked him more than once he must change the subject alot, or just refuse to try it.
It's like trying to sell a non-drug user ecstacy, they have no idea what they're missing, so they don't know how green the grass is on the other side.
Get that? :D

i found out why he doesn't want to go to firefox ..
he knows that i use firefox 100% of the time, so he wants to use another browser that i don't use, so i don't see what sites he goes to ... supposedly, he is a big myspace fan, and loves to visit random people's sites ... :rolleyes: :conf: |
