I am looking to purchase a Digital SLR Camera pretty soon. I have no clue where to start looking. It should be able to take crisp & clear pics (I know it depends a lot on the photographer, but in time i should be able to get the knack of it). Any takes on what I should get? And where would be the best place to start looking? With the x-rates these days, I am leaning to get something from the US. (but then when you add the custom and duties, it could be a bit more expensive - warranty could also be an issue) You think I could get something decently priced locally?
Thanks in advance. |

| Point and shoot: I can recommend the Sony Cybershot DSC-T# series (DSC-T1/T33/T5/T7) cameas. |

Any reference to where you got the price? Checked locally, and the D70S is C$1,599 + tax - a bit more than i am willing to spend on a first Digital SLR camera.
Im doing research on the D100. Good reviews.
How are the Nikons? |

They are good. If you were paying more ($3000+) I'd go Canon.
But Nikons are definatly solid
We sell the D-50 at Costco with a 18mm - 55mm lens for $950 + tax |

If your serious about a digital SLR, and see it as an investment, then go for the Nikon D2X. Its an incredible camera. Its the professional Nikon camera. Its built to last and takes the best pictures out there. The only thing better would be a medium format Hasselbland (sp?), but then again those cost around $80,000-$100,000!!!
I plan on getting the D2X as my next camera. A friend has one, and Ive toyed around with it, and anything else would be a waste. |

Canon or Nikon.
both are good.
I prefer canon. The xt may feel cheap but arguably takes nicer photos then the equivalent Nikon(which name escapes me now).
try and find a used 10/20d if you can.
