There are plenty of other good resources out there too, this is actually an AWFUL free version of the DSM IV that was the best I could find atm... In any event, Alcoholism is without a doubt a disease, there's plenty of empirical evidence to back up the physiological effects of addiction... |

And subsequently, the behavior of drinking can lead to a disease, but drinking itself is not a disease. And you argued that alcoholism wasn't a disease, which it is.

What you need to realize is that hospitals, private companies and the government make truck loads of money off of the treatments for AIDS and HIV, etc... such that they prolong life, but they will never find a cure for it. |
