The biggest names dont pay for transport and accomodation, those are usually part of their agreement
LucasYork
haha I know

I meant the time.... :)

Youd' be surprised, if your not an A list DJ, Ive heard stories of like dj's having to find their own way sometime's, but thats all part of having a good agent/manager and making sure it's all within the agreement!! even the free drinks :P

Yeh well depend's.... :)

Theyve been around for many yrs also... alot of people vote for them tho, because they dont know anyone else and also house djs r more popular I believe, but house supporters are your avg joe... who dont give 2 rats about voting in dj mag!!

Abit off topic, a sad but true fact why trance DJ's are consistently rated higher, even though I prefer trance it's not an accurate representation of everybody into EDM, just the hardcore supporters

I wonder how much Tiesto's check was for the Opening Olympic Ceromony.
LucasYork
Thats it.. plus unless your a top5 ranked trance dj, you won't be getting those figures plus 3-5 gigs a week like tiesto..

House dj's can charge 5-10k and could do gigs nearly every night, as theres about 3-4 times as many house clubs in the world. They also do the massive parties also.. and their productions make more money :) generally speaking

besides the $$$ factor they are doing something creative something they enjoy
LucasYork
yeh maybe... doing 4 gigs a week would be very tiring!! youd get sick of tunes, sore ears, sick of meetnig so many new people, sick of smoke, sick of off tap people lol

i dont think its as great as everyone thinks! not when u do it that much! tho i think tiesto djs alot during summer but less in winter

:D

Your estimations for Tiesto are a bit out.

He is 10'000 an hour.

and thats euros!

Does that make his management team the most successful pimps in the world?

Not everyone dj earn's that, plus you forget hour's of listening to tunes, catching taxis to airports, in and out.. travelling... that all counts!!

doubt its just 2 hrs, plus when you arrive at a city, they wanna put you on radio, interviews, gotta be nice to everyone... more like a whole day sometimes, but yeh not bad for a day even :D

oh its such a hard life ;)

Tiesto did the olympics for free, though as he only used his own stuff he got broadcasting royalties which could run into a six figure sum I read.

The PR would have been enough, talk about getting your face into every home in the world :eyespop:

PVD : 36.000 €
Tiesto : 30.000 €
Armin : 12.000 € per a small venue 2 years ago. Dunno how much today in a big place.
Jules : 12.000 €.

All this are for 2-3 (even 4) hours. Depends on conditions.
