Not everyone dj earn's that, plus you forget hour's of listening to tunes, catching taxis to airports, in and out.. travelling... that all counts!!
doubt its just 2 hrs, plus when you arrive at a city, they wanna put you on radio, interviews, gotta be nice to everyone... more like a whole day sometimes, but yeh not bad for a day even :D |
cmon. most TA DJs are musically on par with the likes of Tiesto. many surpass him. what about in technical skill? please.
many a bedroom DJ could do his job better than he does. |

yeh maybe... doing 4 gigs a week would be very tiring!! youd get sick of tunes, sore ears, sick of meetnig so many new people, sick of smoke, sick of off tap people lol
i dont think its as great as everyone thinks! not when u do it that much! tho i think tiesto djs alot during summer but less in winter
:D |
ok. lets see. getting sick of partying... sure... it can happen.
party every day, you may get sick of it...
NEWSFLASH, every other job in the world, from accounting, to publicity, to sweeping floors has you doing the same everyday... people are sick of their jobs? fine. i'd rather be doing something cool at least. |

but they son't have something tiesto does, and thats a popular name. Its not about his current ability, its his reputation he has built up through the years. thats enough for him to coast on through these gigs ;)
so once these talented ta djs get to producing more and getting a name out, then they can charge as much. |

Tiesto : 30.000 €
Armin : 12.000 € per a small venue 2 years ago. Dunno how much today in a big place.
Jules : 12.000 €.
All this are for 2-3 (even 4) hours. Depends on conditions. |
Did you just pull those numbers right out of your arse?
There's a lot of bull being spouted in this thread. Apart from the really big events the true amounts will be a fair bit lower than qouted above. |

Did your mom teach you to speak so polite?
I am not bored enough to come here and invent numbers. |

| A lot of people are forgetting how long most of the big names that command the big paycheck have been in the game. Well over a decade for all of them. Think how much PvD was making 15 years ago. Peanuts probably. I personally would do it for free. Give me a place to sleep and food to eat, thats all I need. |

Tiesto did the olympics for free, though as he only used his own stuff he got broadcasting royalties which could run into a six figure sum I read.
The PR would have been enough, talk about getting your face into every home in the world :eyespop: |
free? |

What are those figures based on then?
If they're for real, then a sincere 'good god' is in place, methinks. |

i think theres a certain type of tax for entertainers.
in my opinion, being a succesful dj is a privilege. if u dont like the environment and all that, then u shouldnt really be djing, because thats not what you really love.
every job has its bad things. |
