Tone Drunk is a mix.
It is good because it has all Tone Depth stuff on it.
Comment freely.

sounds like it was recorded in another room. Terribly muddy and a so so track selection make for a passable experience.

Just my opinion though .:thepirate

What do you mean by muddy? I haven't noticed anything like that. Thanks for your feedback

it is a term to describe poor clarity in the sound quality and definately applies to this mix.

Is anyone else hearing this "muddy" feel? The version I uploaded sounded great to several of my friends who have already listened to it. I'll try re-uploading the file sometime soon.

As for the tracklisting, the mix, titled Tone Drunk, is an ode to one of my favorite artists. It is a collection of tracks either written or remixed by Tone Depth.

Thank you for listening. And I appreciate the feedback.

it sounds to me like this was recorded using turntables and captured by a poor quality soundcard.

Just fyi:

a pair Technics SL120M5G's, a pair of Pioneer cdj 800's, and a Pioneer 600 mixer were used. I'm sorry, but the sound quality of this mix is not poor. I understand if it is not something you enjoy or think is bad track selection, but I take pride in making sure things sound good when I mix.

Is there anyone else who can confirm this muddled sound?

I am sorry that your monitors make this sound good.

Time to upgrade maybe ?

Ones with less color would be my advice.
bith
What do you mean "time to get new monitors...?"

There seriously is nothing wrong with the monitors I used to record this mix.

I have also listened to this on a seperate system as well as my friends have listened to this on their own system. If you cannot offer me anything else besides "this sounds muddy," I'm afraid I just don't understand. I listened to this mix again tonight somewhere else and it sounds fine.

Seriously though, aside from all this; technically, how was the mixing? I already told you this was a type of tribute album to Tone Depth, so take a look at the actual mixes, track selection aside. Did you even notice the accapella work?
bith
Here's the tracklisting for that mix:

1. Tone Depth - Absynth
*vs Dirty South - Just Can't Shake the Feeling voxapella
2. Tone Depth (feat. Matt Shapiro) - To the Moon (original mix)
3. Sia - Drink to get Drunk (Tone Depth remix)
4. Thomas Penton & Joseph Anthony - El Ritmo (Sultan & Tone Depth mix)
5. Valentino - Flying (Wally Lopez)
6. Soul Tan & Tone Depth - Please (original mix)
7. Valentino - Flying (Sultan & the Greek dub)
8. MJ - Smooth Criminal (Sultan & Tone Depth remix)
*vs Hydrogen Rockers vs Sia - Drink to get Drunk acapella

Ok, I just started listening to the mix and it's not muddy at all, I have no idea where you get that from. The sound quality is actually very good. I have the "Absynth" mp3 and I compared it to the one in the set and they sound EXACTLY the same. Sounds like you need new monitors. You have to keep in mind that Tone Depth tracks are all pretty bass-heavy. Sounds good so far, Chris.

I have to say, Chris, this is definitely not your best work. I love Tone Depth but it's hard to go an entire hour with nothing but. Your beat matching was off in a few spots as well. I wasn't too crazy about all the effects either. However, I didn't even notice that it was an a cappella you were using at the beginning so good job on that.

All in all, you can do much better.
