[Prog] Bent - As You Fall (Vylix Remix) sample

Inspired by the awesome Micah's remix of "Bent - As You Fall" I also created a remix of this lovely slow track :)
It's still under construction

progz used: Reason 3, Soundforge 8 (minor mastering)
Hardware used: Radium 49 keyboard, 2x M-audio studiophile speakers, Samson Resolv 120a studio woofer, M-audio audiophile USB-soundcard.

Hey Teknasia, sounds really good to me, I like how you use breaks and chillout trance together. Great relaxing music, really cool vibes. Vocal is really cool.

Hey Teknesia,
This track is gorgeous the part I can hear. Even though it is prog trance it gives me the feeling I am listening to a Sarah Mclachlan track. I would love to heat the full version of it. Are you going to introduce a subtle lead later in the track?
One minor thing, when the kick is introduced for the first time in the track the volume is a bit too loud. It overpowered me. This is a subtle track mate, no need to scare us ;) Might want to work with a cut off or write a volumeline for the first few kickbars ;) Later on in the track it is all okay.

i like that kick
i miss a bassline, though, something that carries the track along.. even a typical rolling bass would do just fine |

Yeah..I also miss the evident lack of bassline in this one. But the space that is left also serves to create a mood of vastness and emptiness which is great for chill stuff like this! I'm not a fan of prog, but this one really got me cuz of the stiff piano melody. Nice.
I like the kick too, but the bit-crunched panning thing you got going on is a bit much in my ears.
The vocals sounded really over EQed to me. I've never heard the original...but they seemed to lack depth/warmth. Want to hear the whole thing though! Great work! |
