Anyone with a mixer?

I am on the hunt for a semi-decent mixer. I hooked up my speakers to my reciever, then the reciever and tables to the mixer. Ended up getting "sound" from the speakers when I turned up the volume on the reciever and the mixer but no music. I am pretty much coming to the conclusion it is the mixer because it was a mixer just thrown in with my buy of the tables. The guy had no use for it and just gave it to me. Its a crapped out Gemini PMX40 mixer and its sole purpose, for now, was just to get connected and allowing me to atleast play records. But, its obviously not getting or sending out the right signals so now I need a new one. If anyone has one they are getting rid of lemme know please! I know there is a section of the forum for this stuff but I wanna stick local and people I suppose I can "trust". :D

Brand new? Yeah right, I don't have the money to spend like that. Used at a reasonable price? Maybe.

if ur not tryin to spend too much on a mixer..id just get the behringer 700...its decent enuf to around ur house with. But if u want to get a nice one for ur first moxer...then yes, the pioneer 600 is great.
DOOMBOT
Well, I want the turntables to connect to the phono 1 and phono 2 connectors right? And then I have the cables from the reciever going into the back of the reciever in the red and white phono connecters and then the Main connecters on the mixer.

it probably is the mixer...also make sure u ground ur tables ;)
DOOMBOT
Yeah I am pretty sure it is grounded properly. I mean, there are a couple washers on that thing but I have the 2 hooks in between a couple of the washers and its clamped tight. The one "hook" seems spread more then the other but it still gets clamped tight.

I'm reading some not so nice things about that behringer 700. :nervous:

nothing wrong with behringer if youre on a budget bro! Youre looking for something to replace a mixer that doesnt even work so you dont need a real nice mixer.

zizack
Behringers are absolutely awful mixers, sorry if anyone on here has one. I actually have a Denon dx 400 mixer that i don't use anymore that is in perfect condition and a very solid mixer. look it up, see if you'd be interested. But for God's sake, don't go with a Behringer.
kid nyce
try hooking up the TT directly to the receiver to determine if the mixer is shot?
