Marco V was 16th, which is pretty damn high, IMO. That tops a bunch of others that I enjoy more. I agree, though, J00F at 72 is a bit disappointing. |
ok, 16 is pretty good. :p
but, you never see anybody ever talking about him except for a small minority. I just wish people would put alittle more spotlight on the guy. |

I like his productions. Never heard a dj set by him though. Does he ever make an appearance in the US? |

I saw him at Avalon last summer, July I think. Jan Johnston was singing. I think he has been back a few times since then, too. |

Disagree - just proves that when enough ppl vote they get on the list - which was the point of the whole exercise anyways. |

it does, but that's a relatively recent development which dj mag has never addressed. given the readership and editorial board of djmag, the list originally was meant to select the "best" dj; as of the last two or so years, dj mag has implied that it's a measure of the most "popular" dj, though they've never addressed the shift and kept the contest as a measure of an unqualified and nebulous "#1," leaving it to the readers to judge what #1 really means.
if they just called it "the world's most popular dj contest," no one would get their in a bunch about tiesto or pvd or armin ranking high.
edit: btw, j00f and satoshi tomiie's low ranking is downright criminal |

Yeah really
and big props to Paul Van Dyk, he deserved but I'll count this as his last years award.Gald someone new got the Number 1 spot.
Also if a DJ is ranked Number 1 hes should be taken excluded from DJ Mag 100 for atleast 2 years. |

Reading the Armada Music Newsletter:
Shivers Best Album at Release Dance Awards
Wednesday 27th October during the Dutch Release Dance Awards, Armin's 2nd artist album "Shivers" was awarded 'Best Album of the Year'. He also ended 2nd in the category 'Best DJ overall'.
Armin can look back to a successful week, because he also held his 3rd place in the most prestigious DJ list of the world, the DJ Mag Top 100. And he played a great set during 'Amsterdam Dance Event' at the Armada Night on a completely sold out Ocean Diva. |
