Tree huggers vs. Big Bad Corporation(s) basically.
While I did agree with a couple of issues they brought up against McDonalds specifically, they're a bit too socialist for my liking (overall) and tried to bite off more than they could chew in general.
They apparently have a lot of time to protest the system but have no idea how to make it work for them as was apparent by their living conditions.
People dependant on government to solve their societal issues shouldn't expect a great solution to their overall problems; lest they start the circle again by...protesting. Not that they were expecting government to solve this particular issue, I'm just refering to the socialist nature in general.
Here they were trying to get McDonald's to fuss up on a laundry list of issues like Marketing tactics on kids, Animal conditions, Enviornmental impact, being anti-Union, etc., etc.; a tree-huggers wet dream.
There has been a change in corporate culture, in that they are now more accountable thanks to the Internet; a great equalizer in terms of portraying overall image.
Personally, I think at the time of their case, it was absolutely great leverage to create the website they did.
I do applaud their tenacity though, that must have been hell to go through... :nervous:
They haven't changed my opinion on the subject however, as I've always been careful about the amount of McFastFood I take in anyways.
That doesn't stop me from going from time to time but at least I'm aware of what I'm ordering and the amount.
For example, I don't order the pop in a combo and I'll split the fries with the wifey and maybe go once every couple of months.
Like everything, moderation in these areas are needed.
As my rugby coach would say, "Let common sense prevail!". ;) |

| McDonald's and other "big bad corporations" are leading the way in environmental cleanup and spend billions of dollars per year trying to promote active lifestyles and sponsoring things like the Olympics. I'm not sure what these filmmakers (and all the other bleeding hearts) have contributed to society other than a lot of whining occasionally leading to arbitrary, unnecessary, and economically harmful rules. |

If this has a severed head in it somewhere I'm going to be mildly upset.
Mildly. |

fast food is bad and granola is good...
we know already and i still like my whoppers...
all tree huggers should live in leantos and eat berries. Otherwise they are also part of the problem whether they realize it or not. |

I think they do it for reasons like promotion and tax cuts.

as an adult, it's your problem if you wanna eat that junk.
the problem is with young kids who can't make the right decision...
ps, I don't eat junk food, or drink frizzy drinks |

well good for u then...
and as a kid i liked junk food too and my parents made that decision for me. They used it as a treat and also made sure i ate healthier stuff.
And its not "my problem" if i eat a hamburger. Its not a problem at all. Beats the hell out of tofu. |

I meant am against junk food , not fast food
fast food (like a burger) can be made in a "smoewhat healthy" manner.
oh and am sorry. I used "your problem" as general for adults, not you specifically |
