wow....best party of the year for me, and a definate top 5 for life. Music was flawless, Kenny G destroyed the upstairs as an opener, then LES came in and took out any of us that were left standing. The new venue really exceeded my expections...the downstairs has a real warehouse rave feel and the upstairs a real underground feel. The sound is very good, i imagine they still have to tune it with a full crowd in the place. But the big thing for me that night was the people...it came very clear after the booze crowd filtered out, that a huge factor of the old boa's appeal was the crowd...from about 4:30 on, the floor was filled with all boa regulars, all of them dancing there asses off and the building really did feel like 'Boa'. |
Even with the booze crowd people seemed to be pretty into it. The drunkenness wasn't really all that apparent, not as much as it is at System for example. |

I found the booze factor to be rather high, and resulted me sitting near the stairs for a few hours being really bored. Wasnt really feeling the music on the bottom floor too much (Personal taste in music, lots of people there going off - so it was good, just not for me). Upstairs, feeling the music a bit more, but the constant aggressive pushing/shoving and rudness of people made it near impossible for me to have fun.
It /is/ possible to polietly move past people on the dance floor, but when every other min I am getting an aggresive shove, it just killed it for me.
I'm happy that Boa is back, but I wont be stepping foot in there untill after 3am at the earliest, not having to put up with boozeheads will be worth the extra bit of cover I'll need to pay as a result. |

Words can't describe how happy I am to hear about Boa's amazingly successful opening night. Congratulations to Rony, Jeff and the rest of the Boa team! :)
See y'all on the dance floor this Saturday (Nov 5)! |

ROYALTY TREATMENT BIGTIME!!!
A big thanks to Rony for treating myself, disko-kandi & everyone else with us like royalty. Drinks left right & center. we felt like we were part of the mob LOL!!!
They totally classed up the space still keeping that underground vibe there. from what i know, there is even MORE changes to come!
best tune of the night was at 4.20 (which was really 3.20am). LES dropped this trancy tune....:eyes:
looking forward to next week and future weeks! |
