Ounce pound whatever. An ounce is what usually a dealer tries to push at at time. I know this because I used to deal. You get an ounce of some good and you try to sell it as fast as possible. Only big time or stupid dealers hide pounds of it at home.
I'm still not seeing the logic behind allowing people to walk around with ounces on them. |

| Doesn't matter. Most drug charges are brought in state or federal courts. And if the state legalizes it, the federal government will simply usurp the state's rights by using the commerce clause. |

| florida, california, and new york should be the first states to legalize marijuana, because the police havnt put one single dent on its availability no matter how many arrests and seizures they make. its just a drain on the funds that could be used for better purposes. |

Well, this would only be posession of it though, it would still be illegal to sell it, is it really possible to use the commerce clause then? |

| an ounce of good weed ain't exactly small potatoes for a recreational smoker. An ounce of the good stuff around here probably has a street value of around $400. |

Doesn't matter. The supreme court overturned California's legalization of medicinal marijuana because of the asinine possibility of commerce. Yup, I'm sure that's what the framers had in mind when they put the commerce clause into the constitution. |

Most Coloradoans are non-native, and it seems Colorado is becoming more and more liberal in recent years due to the massive influx of migrants.
Colorado voters also repealed provisions of the "Taxpayers Bill of Rights" that limited how tax money could be spent by approving Referendum C:

The Taxpayer's Bill of Rights is "as good as dead" in Colorado, state Rep. Joe Stengel told conservative state leaders from across the country this afternoon.
Stengel said Colorado voters delivered the fatal blow Tuesday when they approved Referendum C...
"I think we now have become a blue state, frankly," Stengel said during the phone meeting arranged by the Washington, D.C.-based Americans for Tax Reform. However, some of those leaders implored Colorado conservatives to avoid painting the Ref C victory as the end of TABOR. |
Occrider is correct about the MJ referendum in Denver.
Nothing is stopping the DEA from coming in and enforcing the federal drug laws against mj, however it does mean that local law enforcement will make it a very low priority.
I've been thinking of moving back to Texas to finish school, but frankly I love Colorado and don't want to leave.
It's a heart-wrenching decision for me because I am ideologically closer to Coloradoans, love the natural beauty etc., but have free tuition in Texas. |

But then it was still legal to sell it? Although only for a specific purpose in that state?
At least to me this seems like a different case, when you are not allowed to do that whatsoever. |

In Colorado Springs, the three Focus on the Family fundamentalist candidates for the school board, whose agenda was to push creationism in schools, were also defeated in addition to the suspension of Tabor and the decriminalization of mj in Denver.
It was a great special election statewide for the reality based community. |
