I think when addressing any action the following maxim should be used: INTENT supercedes INTERPRETATION.
in other words...
All responses should be guided by an analysis of intent.
What was Josh's intent?
I see no evidence of Malice. Swamper's reply was one that clearly showed he saw evidence of Malice though and acted reasonably in light of that interpretation.
I suspect that the "Search" issue plagues Swamper, and as such it is a raw nerve. If the scenario had been on a different topic I suspect he would have responded to Josh's post with a ":p",
but because it was a thread titled WTF happened to "Search for all posts by this user"??? he entered the thread with a shield and sword in each hand primed to respond in the way he did.

I prefer to think of the greats in history are scientist such as the great mr fujita, jack bjerknes and other countless others in my field. But hey thats just me. Their legacy will live on... well forever.
