If you had to fight in Any war from history....

which war would you fight in and what would you be?
I'd have to say WW2 and a fighter pilot. Fly the Spitfire during the battle of britain.
Part of me wants to say a soldier during WW2 but i would have hated the beach landings, maybe something like Fighting elsewhere or come in via parachute or glider.
Pilot during Vietnam would be interesting too... |

My Grandfather was a fighter pilot during WWII. He flew the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt. Shotdown on a straifing mission in france in 1943. Spent well over a year in Stalag Luft 3 which is the same prison camp that the "Great Escape" took place. He was placed there 6 weeks after it happened.
Id have to say a fighter pilot during WWII or some sort of special forces (Ranger, Green Beret, SEAL, Delta) in the current engagments in the middle east. |

Delta is just a unit in Special Forces (Green Berets), and the units you referred to are called Special Operations, or a whole unit in the Corps called SOC - Special Operations Capable.
I'd have served as I did, with who I did, in this war. |

| i know it sounds kinda sick and morbid, but i've always kinda wanted to be like a guerila in the Vietnam War. like living in the jungle surviving off of nothing and picking people off. obviously not the best life, but i think i've romanticized it to an extent in my own mind. |

I think lots of people want to be the Sniper from Saving private Ryan (whos name was jackson i think :) ) except they wont die at the end.:( |

Thats all well and good, but Snipers work in teams in the Army now. Pairs.. |
