Im sorry to say but Ultra has Def gone down hill in the past 3 years or so. Whomever doesnt agree obviously didnt atten during the 1st few years. I have been to all Ultras except for the one 2 years ago(the one that Underworld headlined and I heard from my friends that, that was absolutely amazing but besides that) I must say they keep getting worse each time. Music levels are super low, the lights in the back of the amphitheater are constantly on(killing any night time vibe at all)
Crowd wise as well its just been getting nastier and nastier with no vibe at all..Just a bunch of people who dont really look like they belong there and are there bc EDM is the popular thing nowadays..Also soo many cops just ready to bust anyone(and not like the years b4 where the cops were super cool)
Dont get me wrong they still have some amazing artists but all in all the festival has def. gone downhill in my opinion
All in all best Ultra to date was 2001 in my books nothing will top that Ultra, with honorable mention to when it was back on the beach in 2000 and 99 ;)
The real show was at the AA Arena...Hernans and Sasha&Digweeds set were more than memorable. |

i do tend to agree with you there Cadet. Ultra just hasn't been what it used to be 2...maybe 3 years ago. The main stage's volume seems to go down year by year, the presence of so many people thar are just there to get really ed up and don't know sqaut about edm, the absurd waiting in the sun to get in....ugh.....there's a lot more wrong with Ultra,but then again there's so much more right. Great artists, great music, and the vibe is still there man. I don't like to miss events like this because in a way Ultra represents the electronic music scene here in the U.S. I still go year after year because of the music. Oh and btw, that Sasha and diggers set was muthafookin' craaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! must get it somehow............absolutely amazing set! |

| I'm a registered delegate of WMC2006, and my badge gets me into UMF -- so I'll definitly get to see Prodigy again. They do a great live act. I first saw them in Germany in 1994 when they were on their Music for the Jilted Generation Tour. And I have seen them on every album tour since. Keith does this awesome thing where he spits fire on stage! And Liam is actually also an awsome DJ. I've seen him throw down some un-ing-believable sets. I hope he gets a club date while he's in town anyway. The Prodigy rocks! |
