You got a ticket of 49 over when you were doing 99 km/h on a 100 zone?
You may want to re-think not fighting it in court. You will have an insurance nightmare w/ 6 demerit points (+ whatever points you have now, if any) |

6 demerit points? Are you sure about that? I was going 40 over the limit once (80 in a 40) and I only got 4 demerit points taken off. I'm almost positive I got the full amount you can. I'm pretty sure it's only 1 point for every 10 km over the limit.
Even the signs on the 401 are like that...120 = 2 points, 140 = 4. I could be wrong though. I haven't gotten a ticket in a couple years. Quite lucky considering I'm known for my excessive speeding! |

HOLY !!! LOLLLL!!! I was so confused when I read this...I worked with someone named Swampillai in my previous job so I was like, is this about my buddy? Then I was thinking is this a play on Swamper's name? :conf: oh well, really funny nonetheless!

As dumb as k-bekkers are, I doubt the cop would be that far off...are you sure you didn't misread the sign? Were you on the highway or a street/ramp just before the highway? :conf:

My dear, you are the cutest, most law-abiding driver in Ontario compared to me...:p 6 demerit points from driving 50 over the limit with an automatic court date. Also, 6 demerit points for racing, or a possible suspension depending on the cop's judgement.
And dangerous driving (i.e. criminal code, NOT highway traffic act)...don't even go there...:nervous: :nervous: :eyespop: :eyespop:

4 points = 30-49 km/hr over
6 points = 50 or more over
Insurance companies don't care about demerit points, that's more a licensing issue (re: suspension) - insurance looks at # of infractions with most speeding tickets looked at as a minor one unless there is a combo of a dangerous driving charged involved |
