Are you serious? :stongue:

* Dodgy Beatmatching
* Quick, messy transitions
* poor phrasing

It's just generally pretty loose and shoddy all round :p
Philby
well i thought it was pretty good....
i cant hear any bad beat matching in the set, none that i can remember though (but i have listened to it all the way through recently)

I was wondering the same thing... on which transitions does it get dodgy? Im honestly curious as well.

there are a fair few dodgey mixes in there. from the very first mix - quite a few of them have key clashes, the equing is quite a bit off and they slightly go in and out of time

personally tho im not the fussiest guy when it comes to perfect mixing - its just like the teapot said :)

damn straight, it is interesting though that the man who is in the guiness book of records as the greatest dj of all time has sets were he does not mix perfectly and the transitions are not perfect. *scratches chin for a moment* very intesting indeed.

Yeah it does seem a bit funny - the bass goes in and out of phase a lot in some mixes while at other times it seems as though there is just too much happening, cymbals and stuff all over the place. All the same I still rate it - it has this awesome party vibe to it and the track selection is pretty good. Oakey always seemed to put more emphasis on track selection rather than technical ability I think...

i thought the first mix from 'not over yet' into 'stage one' was alright....i dont know much about keys and stuff but if the beats arent all over the place then its pretty much a good mix for me, and i dont think this set fails that requirement :)

*sighs*
so am i like the only person on auTA that doesnt rate this set? :(

the key mixing is pretty good as far as i can tell, may need to analyse it. thats why it works... (see nyquist thereom's chapter in Oxford Concise Dictionary under K: for Keymixing :) )

i never noticed dodgy mixing, maybe because of the quality of tunes, but i will ANALyse it.. and then pick it apart, like many others seem to have done here :rolleyes:

it depends how you listen to it. if youre playing it thru headphones & not doing anything else (like work) then youre bound to hear the mistakes. doesnt mean youre picking it apart soupy. dry those eyes honey.
