The Herald Sun is today still banging on about their precious cameramen. Over at Spencer St, The Age has put footage of Tuesday's clash outside Melbourne Magistrates Court up on its website, so we can glean an insight into the press gang's modus operandi.
Now check out the cameraman who follows him from behind – he “taps” or “hits” the boy on the head or shoulders to get his attention to turn around so he can capture the boy's picture in anger. Of course, this works a treat, as the boy probably feels he's being attacked from behind. He falls for it, adding in turn to the fight. Also, note the fact that the boys yell at the paparazzi to “STAY AWAY!" Why would you yell “stay away” unless you feel you are being attacked?
It's a pity the scene starts too early to show how the media horde assists in instigating the fight. It's reminiscent of how the paparazzi would annoy their prey (insert name of movie star here) to provoke some reaction from them, to get the "money shot."

Several articles in the papers have said that the camera men were in fact following the men as they left the court. Isnt that the role of cameramen. I dont think she has actually read any of the articles just jumping on the "i hate media bandwagon". I think everyone with a bit of grey matter realises that the media were following them.
I do however believe that the person who wrote the article has missed the point, as paulie mentioned they were the ones throwing the punches, kicks, tables, chairs u name it. Blatent assault, a camera is not a weapon (unless they smashed it over their heads) a fist, a leg used to kick someone, throwing furniture is. Nothing can excuse the fact they laid into one cameraman particularly. Funny how the writer doesnt mention that. ;) |

Just a tad disingenuous of you to edit out the name of the person who actually wrote the article.[Actually pretty disingenuous to edit it at all] If the "she" you are referring to is me I don't jump on anyone's bandwagon and I certainly don't edit to support my argument when I have one. I offered another view, not my own. I believe in putting out as much information as possible . People can then actually make informed judgements and post accordingly. |

Hang on a sec. If you look closely at that video you DON'T see what this stupid idiot describes. All that was describes above happens AFTER you see the fight start. The cameraman pushes him sideways, pushing on his ARM, probably to get a better view of the fight. And the guy that was 'hit' doesn't turn around.
But why let the truth get in the way of a "Evil Media" rant?! |

As I said before I put this article [Again. I didn't write it] up as an alternative view for information purposes I hadn't looked at the video in any depth. I have now and to use another cliche "there are none so blind as those that will not see". |
