| I'm ashamed to admit it but I use to be on the other end of the line and the that I had to pull was unreal, like telling these poor bastards who had bad credit that they've been pre-approved for a credit card and all they had to do was shell out 200 bucks and can get a cc and a whole bunch of other goodies. |

that sucks. since i just turned 18, the recruiters, colleges, credit cards, and insurance companies have been calling asking for ME. it was always for my mother in the past. |

That's the best example of bottom feeding I've ever heard! You're job was to sell false hope to poor people/deadbeats who already had bad credit and couldn't afford it thereby making their situation even worse. That's great! THE POOR! |

Someone has to make the decision to get the credit card. No one has to say yesy...why don't those people simply say no? |

I thought it was the sailors and IGK that called for your mom. |

Before that, I would usually tell them to "hold on for a minute" and just leave the phone. I figured that the more time they spent waiting for me to come back, the fewer people they'd be able to annoy that day. |
That only works in the U.S.
Whenever telemarketers call I always pretend to be underage and say that I cannot make any decisions regarding whatever it is that they want or if my parents aren't home and they ask me: When will they be in? I say around 12am to 6am. That always works because I figure by that time the telemarketer has already clocked out of the job which would make it impossible for them too call back. Since then I only get 1 or 2 phone calls a month. |

I agree, they don't have to buy it, however, you must agree that the sales plan is less then ethical. I don't actually have a problem with it, if you can make it work then go for it. Just like all the lawyers out there representing people suing for injuries they don't have.... why not represent them, someone has to. |
