My post was not meant to flame anyone, but since we've started.
You are correct candygirl. Good for him. As you are playing you 3hr sets at the Beverly Center Bar. He is playing around the world getting paid.
As for Clovis, I know he is past his prime. But while you were still in diapers trying to figure out were to plug the red and white audio cords. G.A. was teaching all of Miami (Our Western Trance Mecca) what trance is about. So dont say he hasnt done . When you nor I will ever do as much as he did.
All I was stating was that his past has earned him the respect that he deserves.

loooooooooots of flaming on the boards... expect it lol. and learn to live with it.
as for me.... i have not heard his work... so i have NO OPINION about him... i do respect the fact that he has been spinning for years out in FL. again though... NO OPINION... i have not heard his work.... i REFUSE to be ignorant and form statements without hearing work firsthand.
remember... one new demo a day keeps the cheese away =] |

It amazes me how many ppl hate/dislike George Acosta. What I would like to know is how many of you "haters" actually know the history of George Acosta. Not to say that he is at the top of his game, but damn lets give the man some slack for what he did do in helping Trance become what it is. I am the first to acknowledge he was over played in MIAMI and poorely mananged thereafter, but I will always respect him for what he did. He was playing electronic music before most of even knew what the hell it was, and yet we sit here and rag on the guy for continuing to do what he loves. I am an old fart in the trance world at 33 years of age I have been there and done that, but just as some of you youngins will still be lineing up to see AVB, PVD or ATB <--- (lol) I still enjoy listening to GeorgEEEE. Allow ppl to form their own opinion and state all the facts when hating on anyone. Like the fact that trance in 1998 was not main stream and none of you underaged teenie boppers knew who hell Talla, George, Okey and ATB were. Lets respect what all DJs have done for us, all the emotional rollercoasters they have taken us on. And enjoy the music.
Peace. |
i agree bro and this is coming from a 20 year old my older brother would listen to george and talla all the time i was about 15 or 14 and i loved it i still love talla and george is good he was better b4 but whatever i agree his mixing is poor at times but he did do alot for trance thats why i will never talk about him even tho i kno he has done sum ed up with ace da brain and that ultra scam he put but still i pop in one of his old cds i still jam to it |

LOL at the GA bashing. Happens every time, and he packs the club everytime.
Some people like the mainstream euro prog trance (as do I) But GA is different, and that's why some don't care for him. Can't stand something over 140BPM? Weaksauces I say. Life begins at 140+. Don't like him? Stay home. More room for the rest of us. :D |

I've talked to GA briefly about this before. It's very simple:
Ace Da Brain used GA's name to sell tracks.
GA used his producing talent in a partnership to make tracks.
They didn't see eye to eye. That's business I guess.
 |
