LMFAO...You are funny, my friend:haha: :haha:

haha Oh Lisa don't get carried away because as soon as you say that you will get to the next chapter, not know a damn thing, and wanna throw the stat book at the wall :)

(btw if you need verbal help, I got an A in all three stat classes I have taken) ;) :)

the greastest benefit, IMHO, to studying stats is understanding how easily they can be manipulated to suit someone's purposes.

I am not so sure about this. Every time I have seen an example of someone manipulating stats is an example of them doing the analysis incorrectly. Usually, a proper statistical treatment shows this right away.

Organizational behaviour, human resource management on the other hands makes me want to throw up. Too much fuzzy, gray area. Constant jibberish about how people interact with other people. At the end of the day, no one knows what the hell they were supposed to learn in class. Its just all bull. In my opinion, if you can't put a number to something, then it is worthless.

haha... I agree with this one.... I have to take at least two of those courses for my program and I'm starting to get the feeling that putting them off won't make them go away... I should just get them over with this year

as for stats, I like it :)
Goashem
^^oh god how i agree
every class where there is a definite answer to a question is good. if a class requires that the answer to a question is left to the interpertation of the reader that class should NOT be marked by tests!

perhaps I wasn't clear...it's not that good statistical analysis is "wrong" or faulty...but the inferences people draw from them are often shady.

"9/10 clubbers take drugs!" could be a headline in a newspaper to support banning raves/after hours clubs. But...if in those 9, they are counting people who drink coffee and smoke cigarettes, THAT is a gross manipulation of the otherwise "true" statistic ;)

then factor in sketchy data gathering techniques, poor reliability, research bias, etc...and you see that any given stat, on its own and without qualification, can be *very* misleading.
