ok i've checked the mix out properly now, my comments:
1. Ian... good starting track, sets the mood nicely, no complaints
2. XDR... wasn't sure about this, thought it would be a bit too early on to drop anthems like this in, and the kick isn't as strong as the previous track. awesome mixing though
3. Dj Alex (ISR)... good choice of track, progresses the energy level well, ropey mixing though, seems you lost count of the bars/phrases
4. The Frezzz... argh this annoyed me, it's neither hard or techy, i was gutted after hearing it cos i really wanted to step up the pace properly with my contribution but this track just seems a huge drop from the ones before it, so couldn't push things too hard after it
5. Isoterra
6. vA|sYn[D]rOm... thought this was a bit too raw & technoish considering the track before it was pretty much straight trance, bars seemed competely out of sync on the transition too
7. Trickysaer... solid mix, but seemed way too hard for mid-set, i'd have preferred this at the end!
8. Stevieboy32808... good choice, brings it back down a bit into trancier territory whilst keeping the energy, nice mixing too
9. Psylo... i'm not sure if this works or not, its quite a step down but it did sound awesome when it kicked in & full of energy, mostly thanks to the nice timing on the transition
10. Evelon... yes yes, this one put a smile on my face, very nice selection, goes perfectly
11. DJ Metatron... didn't rate this at all sorry, mixed in nicely but seems to lose a ton of energy from the previous track, no way near as energetic
12. Belgian Bonzai... didn't like the tune but guess it goes pretty well in the mix
13. Rockabye... cool mix, great selection too, drives things home nice & banging to the finish
all imo.. i'm quite picky with structure & the likes ;) |

I expected such reaction so i'm gonna defend my choise a bit here ;)
First of all I'd like to say that you're right about that my track is neither techy or hard, but it is a pretty epic tune IMO and the first three tracks weren't really hard or techy either, BPM for instance was a bit below 139.
When I got the mix I tried to mix the tracks I had in mind (and those were hard or techy), but I really wasn't satisfied with the result, so I started looking for other tracks.
So I came up with this track, which dispite a bit of lack of hard or techyness, can well be used in hard/techyset, certainly considering the early stage of the mix en the state the mix was in. I use this track often myself when I do a harder or techier type set and it can give a set a slightly different twitch, which can make a set complete, but perhaps is that just my personal feel with this track. But I certainly was more satisfied with the result of my transition.
Overall I think this mix turned out pretty great. There are two tracks in the middle of the set which are a bit too hard in that stage and perhaps should have been more near the end of the set IMO.
And big thumps up for XDR, who did an awesome transition.:) |

| true, i guess.. the first three weren't hard or techy, but the bassline in track 3 was alot solid & driving.. and it seemed to lose alot of energy as your bassline came in. fair enough with your reasoning behind it though.. i've heard unorthodox selections like that before in mixes and liked them, guess its just a taste thing. :) |

May I just remind everyone who hasn't sent a pm to vA|sYn[D]rOm and me telling us what their track was, to do so soon. At the moment we don't have a full tracklist for this CD.
DJs who have not pmed their track:

Thx for the review, really nice to hear you thoughts about the tracks and mixes. My though when i heard the mix was "Was this mix really with the theme for beeing hard?" It sounded like the first guys didnt realize it or gave it up, so i thought id turn up the tempo to make it a bit more banging. But yeah, maybe i went out a bit too hard... |

Yeah, I just remembered. :p
It's a shame as it would have been interesting to know what he would have added. |

Cool, i see the cd is finally finished :D
But i'm listening now and i'm shocked how bad the sound quality is in the beginning :( Also still annoyed cause the starting bpm was lowered from 143 to 137.5.
But I will listen the whole set, cause i wanna know what everyone else did :)
