I'm actually trying to quit. I always crash once it wears off and I hate that.
I've gone from four cups a day this spring maybe a cup. Three weeks ago I made it all the way to thursday without any. It was a week without any caffiene, booze, or any other drugs. I actually felt high on life. Caved in on Friday with a double latte.
I've found the trick that worked for me is first cut the quantity in each serving but not the number of servings - I started having a shot of regular instead of a cup. Then I just went cold turkey and had a cup of cold milk every morning - just something to sip on. After a couple of days I realized that I didn't really need the coffee. |

In the good old days I was not really aware of the caffiene high and so I guess coffee worked for me.
As time went along I have grown more conscious of the state of my mind. In between yoga and use (not abuse) of various substances opening my mind I am now more aware of a caffiene high and a lot of times, it just doesn't feel right.
It really does suck. I can't take vitamins without thinking of it as a drug because I can feel and know the effect it is having on me. Yes, I get high off of B-Complex. |

| I'm not really keen on the coffee buzz, either. It kind of makes me feel gross (I dunno, maybe I'm just weird). So instead I have one clean, refreshing Red Bull in the morning and that seems to work throughout the day. If I'm really tired from being out the night before, I'll have another one after like 3 pm to finish off the work day. |

I hate the coffee crash as well so I only have some once or twice a month.
I hate plain coffee. If I ever get that I usually add milk and 30 gallons of sugar. Usually I have a white mocha late or caramel late (iced in the summer). These days though I've been enjoying the holiday coffee flavors. Gingerbread late's and peppermint late's are pretty damn good. Mmmmm  |

usually try to get FAIR TRADE coffee and second to that, organic/shade grown etc. i buy whole bean and frnch press at home, so here are some of my fav roasters and roasts.
at whole foods, allegro coffees are pretty good. whole foods organix blend is a blens of light and dark roasts and presses nicely. for a more pungent taste, the sumatra blue batak is wicked.
in NYC i was just turned on to porto rico coffee roasters... i got a cup last time i was in town and had to take home a couple pounds.
my fav roaster in the US (so far) is called larry's beans, located in raliegh, NC. all organic and faily traded and wow its good.
if i have to go to starbux, i will, and the one thing they do well is espresso. grande americano with room for cream pls. outside of cafe verona i try to avoid their roasts and blends as they all taste burnt.
a smaller chain that i do like is caribou coffee. and in FL barnie's is ok. and Austin's in Orlando is good for their lighter roasts.
lastly, there is a wicked place in charlottesville VA called the mudhouse. its always a good cup.
rule of thumb: local coffeehouses are almost always better than the chains. oh, and dunkin donuts coffee has crack or meth or somthing in it.
thats off the top of my head, but i make it a point to seek out local flavor coffee wherever i go, so i could probably list a dozen more that i like if i had time...
