well that was fun :)

julian played some cool tunes that i have no idea how to classify :p then danny came on and smoothly took things from breaks to prog and took up the bpm a bit and then jules came and played lots of cheese hehe

lots of people at the club, jules was fun to watch, he was bouncing around the booth, kinda like vlado when he's playing. the set overall was pretty cool, a mix of cheese, clubby trance, techno and old tunes. of what i remember there was

randy katana - play it louder
randy katana - solid wave
randy katana - pleasure island
moby - go
police - sos (svd remix)
jamx - keep it that way

and that's all i can think of right now. ryan and i came to a conclusion, jules really likes katana. there were some really cool techno tunes, one really bad cheesy track with male vocals and everyone was singing to the SOS tune

good times, once again, props to ph1 for another succesful event :)

southside spinners - luvstruck 2000 (dj jean remix)

the one and only tune that i liked while i was still there. we left at 1:40 which was right after i was done with luvstruck.

too bad i didn't get to hear pleasure island. oh well. :(

place was packed. it was too hot and no room to dance unless you stay in the back or unless you like jumping up and down.
AquaYak
it was southside spinners - luvstruck (marco v mix)
also reconized a few tunes
jam x - keep it that way (new remix)
hi-gate - saxuality
ton tb - advanced
katana - fancy fair 2005

marc et claude - i need your lovin'
Mark
no its not sean. how much money do you want to put on that?
AquaYak
well it had a tribal beat and i have the jean mix here on vinyl, and it isnt even close. save your money.
o ya it also had a slightly altered melody, which occurred on this disk: http://e.discogs.com/release/18100

describe tribal bassline. the marco v and benjamin remix has marco's bassline all over it. it was not existent in the one we heard last night. also, listen for the second break in marco's mix, that was not there last night either.

i know dj jean's remix inside out. it was played by johan gielen at mysteryland 2000. still one of my all time favs! you think i would get this one wrong? remember, you're talking to a guy who's probably had just as much, if not more, time exposure with trance than you.

ever occur to you that mislabels have heppened before where your label is stuck on the wrong side of the vinyl? with no recording of jules set, we obviously won't be able to prove anything but i am 100% certain that it is the dj jean remix.

i'm listening to the marco v right now and that is not even anywhere near what we heard last night. the loops and use of the breakdown is completely different. the bassline is different and the structure is different. i don't understand how you can mistaken that. maybe you should step away from the speaker for a bit and really pay attention to the music you're listening to.
