Making a composition using FL Studio only

Does anyone here do this?
Make a song in FL Studio without using any other effects or plug ins other than what's provided in the FL Studio software?

The reason I ask is because I'm presently working on a little jingle and it's sounding kinda interesting without using anything else, not even compression or really any type of mastering effects and I'm not doing this on a billion dollar (exaggeration) set up.

So what are the disadvantages to doing this? Am I going to run into problems with audio quality when I go to export?

I'm new to the software production world so I havn't a clue really, but I would appreciate any advice, like I said, the song is sounding interesting without dressing it up too much but I'm curious if anyone else has had any experience making a decent sounding tune straight out of the box.

Thanks in advance.

Talk to IDarkISwordI, he did his Allfruit demo a while back.

Hey. Thanks DigiNut for pointing to the thread. I'm also working on a second volume of ALLFRUIT (will however be renamed this time). It might be a little while longer before I get to post any type of samples for it on TA. Currently adding in one shot and multi-shot effects and *hopefully* will be finished before too long, but then I have to wait on FiberLine to do thier whole process of getting it out the door.

Just some current stats about the upcoming ALLFRIT vol2:
-Only using 3xosc for synthesis.
-Once again, only using the small sample pack bundled with FLS.
-Using only FLS effects (with the addition of BBE Sonic Maximizer for better sound response).
-There are roughly 28 synths, 20 samples (including a short vocal bit from me), 75 drop in FX, 110 automation tracks at the moment
-Current track time is 9m 19s but currently has no outro. Itll probably be closer to 12m in the final release.

I think thats about all there is to tell. Be looking for it soon though :), just not as soon as I had hoped ;).

Cheers,
Zac

Wow! 12 min? Awesome!

Right now I'm working on a little something, I'm shooting for 6.5 to 7 min when all is said and done.

I only have 4 min done so far, 22 tracks and the playlist is all over the place lol, I need to get more organized on future projects, this one I started with the main melody tracks and built out from there, it's chaotic looking but the transitions are fairly smooth and has a nice build up, break, 2nd build up and I'm presently working on the second break right now.
I hope to post it here at TA.com when I finish it so y'all can tell me where I need to improve.

DarkSword....when you feel you've completed a composition and you're ready to finalize the project, do you doing anything special to it before exporting?
From working with hardware I know mastering with a little compression really helps level everything out, but right now from what I can tell this song's levels are pretty steady, it's not really peaking anywhere, I'm just curious if the audio quality will sound as good when I export.

Hey. If the sound levels sound good, then they sound good. I always work with some generic mastering plugs in the master channel, but only stuff included with FLS usually. I really like the Waves plugins as well if you are looking for a recomendation. In all honesty, a second, third and fourth opinion is the only way to know if u need better mastering.

Cheers,
Zac
